  • Thought I'd bump this because it's back on the menu for me ;-)
  • Hope you like! I've just stumbled upon another addition... if you have some left over (cooked) pasta just mix that in after you have microwaved your serve of soup to add an extra dimension. I would then have to call the dish "Flesh Eating Minestrone" but given the carb hit to the calories, not so flesh eating :-) I went on…
  • basil, oregano, thyme... I had a nice mixed herb jar but that ran out... Cheers, James
  • I've been using this entry in the database: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calorie-chart-nutrition-facts I think the my recipee was based on this originally but it was many years ago! Cheers, James
  • Weighing and logging it every day gives you this lovely sinusoidal graph, like a weigh loss biorhythm. You do it long enough, no weight increase freaks you out, you look forward to the next dip! It's natural to feel a little disappoint when you put on weight, but logging everyday makes you realise that any gain is just…
  • Anyone try?
  • I love my Chilli, but with this soup it seems very small amounts can have a big impact! Maybe its a general soup thing, as I can usually pile on the chillies on other foods, but when I put them in to soups, I have to be very careful! Cheers, James
  • A batch seems to last me about 2 weeks, but one of the point of this soup is to have as much as you like. Maybe it lasts me about 12 lunches? The basic recipe was a little astringent with the celery but the wine and onions really smooth the flavour and the smell. Alternatively maybe I'm just used to it now :-) Cheers, James
  • Ratatouille is the best! I feel so guilty even having meat with it at times its so nice! Although you can get away with having a 100-200g steak with rat' and feel totally contented! For my ratatouille I also add in mushrooms and white wine... Cheers, James
  • I will have a look at the thread, thanks. For me 1200 is a goal, not a rule... some days I will eat 1200 but a lot of the time I am over 1200. Either way this soup has helped me lose 30 kg and it has been easy time. Cheers, James
  • Although I will say that after cutting up a kilo of carrots and a whole celery you will know all about it :-) Cheers, James
  • Hi, With regard to the calories, well, I've been using the entry for "Kickstart Diet Soup" because I think it was based on this, but the basic idea has been floating around the house for years so I'm not entirely sure. This version is 150 calories for 2 cups, and that sounds about right - it is an insanely low calorie…
  • Now that is a stylish snack list! Although I do love the 1/4 cup onions that was posted :_) And the wine... Cheers, James
  • Great stuff! I'm feeling so guilty right now! Anyone else want to post their top 5? Cheers, James
  • Height: 1.76m (5.77 feet) Weight: 84kg (185lb) Age: 43 I play table-tennis 4 times a week, but I have a "sedentary" job, so I try to get a bit of walking in when I can... Cheers, James
  • Hi Shleki, I usually have this for breakfast: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/calories/golden-vale-aldi-oats-sensations-apricot-and-grain-4845774 My lunch is this vegetable soup (carrots, celery, diced tomatoes, onion, salt and pepper) - I sometimes throw in some meat from the previous nights dinner... What do you think…
  • Well, its more a guideline then a rule :-) But I'm just doing what MFP tells me to do, I was at 1300/1400 or something and re-did my goals a few months back and I was switched to a 1200 diet. My breakfast is OATS, my lunch is vegetable soup, my dinner is meat and salad. Sometimes I cook a few chips... I snack on a doughnut…
  • Any sport! But at the moment I'm playing a lot of table tennis! Cheers! James
