  • Glad to hear everyone is having a great feeling about today! I got up today & took my walk/bike ride (with pleasure- motivated) and had a quick breakfast already. Hoping to check the scale tomorrow morning. Svesemenja: Thanks for sharing pictures of your Sugar Babies!! Glad to hear your "pets" are your family!! They are…
  • Today was o.k. I could have made better snack choices, but at least I did get in both a morning walk & an evening bike ride in addition to my first day of "work." So - I forgot my pedometer - will try to remember for tomorrow. But at least I was within my calorie limit, drank most of my water, exercised & am now trying to…
  • Good morning to all my "Around the World Friends!" Started my day on my Air Climber (Stepper) and hubby came home from work & wanted to make breakfast....so, I've had a little heavier meal than normal, but I'm off to my new job (at a grocery store) & I'll be working through my normal lunch time today. It's a job...not my…
  • Hello from Michigan. Great to hear from all of you! I'm starting to get back on track - started today with my walk & did manage to keep out of the goodies - not that there are any here, but I always seem to find something. Tomorrow my morning walk will be substituted with my air climber & possibly a video before I start my…
  • Affirmation: It is September 17th & I am proud to say that I have logged everything I have consumed & have mastered not eating 2 to 3 hours before bed. I have drank water vs. soda and focused on eating unprocessed foods. I have also maintained a workout schedule including 90 minutes of daily activity in conjunction with a…
  • There's the group! Thanks Jenny D! I've been back from vacation about a week now & it's taken me a week to back into my healthy eating/working out groove. Weather has been rainy & I've been applying/interviewing for a new job, so, have been a little busy - but that's no excuse. My biggest problem is that I gained while…
  • Go To: Hungrygirl.com & weightwatchers.com for free recipes too.
  • Totally Agree - This has been one of the best threads I have read too!!! I can totally relate & you do look gorgeous & confident! Don't ever loose that feeling & belief in yourself!!
  • "It doesn't matter how old I am, I'll get hired!!" I really don't feel my age!! Hoping loosing weight will allow me to present as a "normal" person.
  • You definately need snacks & I like to eat protein or fruit usually. I keep boiled eggs, string cheese, L.F. cottage cheese, almonds, and seasonal & frozen fruit on hand. Sometimes I'll have a rice cake or raw non-starchy veggies. A slice of 2% cheese isn't too high either. Check out hungrygirl.com for many more ideas.
  • Wow! What a change! Be very proud of yourself! & thanks for inspiring the rest of who still have a way to go!!
  • . WTG!!! Girl, I hope I can get some results like yours! I've been trying to work in P90X - but, I can't give up Turbo Jam! I love the way I feel when I'm finished!
  • Walking for sure! I lot 30lbs. last summer by eating well & walking daily. I used to walk 2 miles a day when I was younger & that would help sllim out my legs, but now that I'm just a little older, lol, I walk about 5 miles a day to accomplish the same thing. I pared down my legs & hips and dropped a couple of sizes. Plus,…
  • Thanks for asking this questions & for the responders input! I am 46 & have been wondering if my hormones have affected my ability to loose weight too. I am not taking H. therapy though, but I am sure that the A.G.E. club is hindering my success. Actually, what it's doing is making me really change my lifestyle vs.…
  • To keep it simple, I have protein the size of a deck of cards, a salad (as big as I want with non-starchy veggies) and a side of non-starchy veggies with spray butter(I can't believe it's not butter) such as zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, brussel sprouts, green beans, or whatever is in season. But, not every…
  • I use milk myself, but I often see smoothies made with ice. How about that? Or have you ever juiced (can you borrow someone's to try it out?) I just use my blender to keep the pulp for the fiber...just a thought.
  • Good morning! I've struggled with working out early in the morning, but today, I actually got up (self motivated) & put in the 20min. Turbo Jam & Ab Jam & did those before I went for my morning bike ride. Woo! Hoo! Very energizing! I really need to keep up this habit so that when cold temps. come & the walks/bikerides…
  • Just finished with Turbo Jam - Cardio Party! Luv It! I was sweatin' up a storm, but it was energizing - not draining! My back was hurting a little before I started the workout & by the time I was finished - no more pain! Woo! Hoo! Sure is better than taking a pain killer & a lot more fun! Diane - I was thinking about…
  • Ever tried Firm Express? They combine more work with weights & sports type drills, although there isn't a ton of repetition. P90X has more repetition & a lot less "choreography" too. You might like either of these I think.
  • I here you about the choreography. I wasn't perfect when I started either - lol! However, compared to Firm Express - this is much more manageable (for me). I tried Zumba (at home video) & I absolutely couldn't follow it either....I am kind of challenged that way. I wish I wasn't, and I just keep trying!. Chalene says in…
  • Melissa, Just curious. Did you get Turbo Fire? or Turbo Jam? Shari
  • Hello, I have had her videos a couple of weeks now & LOVE Them! After I tried the 20 minute workouts, I went right to the Cardio Party (50 min.) workout. Finally, I found a workout that works up a good sweat! Plus, it's a little more repetative than the other workout & I feel so energized when I do it! I also like her…
  • When I use a video, I've calculated cals. burned by simply choosing the calisthenics option in the data base, but maybe you could also use the "aerobics" option too, depending on the type of movements the video includes. Input your time & MFP will give you a calorie burn. I don't eat back my calorie burn though. I try to…
  • replacement for caffeine: One a day Weight Smart Vitamins (you won't get the jitters, just some energy!!) replacement for pop: Water, Wylers or Crystal Light (luv the single packets), GoldPeak Tea (unsweetened) & Green Tea Help with Headaches: Aleve Hope this helps! I had to cut down & now cut out pop - it's just chemicals…
  • Wow! Your story is very motivating to me as I am also 5'7", although a few years older at 46 & and I too luv Chalene's workouts! I am working with Turbo Jam right now & love it - but, like you, I feel that I really need to be working on building muscles. I also have P90X and plan to start on it this Sunday. I am stuck in…
