I need some sort of recovery drink for after Insanity, I don't want to buy the actual recovery drink its just too much money *yes, it may be "worth it" but I don't have the cash to spend on a drink*.

I know chocolate milk would be a pretty good cheap alternative but I can't stomach milk especially after a workout out, I would throw it up instantly.

Any suggestions?

What about chocolate soy milk? Or Almond milk? There is also Vega One protein powder (in chocolate) that is really good, but pricey.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't do Almond or soy milk either :(, none sit well on my stomach even when I am not active unfortunately. I will look for the vega One Protein to see the cost.

I use Sunwarrior Warrior Blend protein powder. It is vegan, but also soy free. I mix mine with almond milk, but you can use water.

    Can you tolerate coconut milk?

I use milk myself, but I often see smoothies made with ice. How about that? Or have you ever juiced (can you borrow someone's to try it out?) I just use my blender to keep the pulp for the fiber...just a thought.

Sunwarrior or Vega are both fantastic vegan, soy free options.

Why don't u just eat regular food. "recovery" equals protein. Have a piece of chicken. It's already on your grocery list anyway.

I use garden of life raw protein stuff, which is vegan sprouted and then ground into a powder. It was worth it on sale--but then again, some nice broth or powerpac/emergen-c packets restore electrolytes too, if that is your goal.

you mention "you dont have cash to spend on a drink" so other drink products arent an option I assume.

your only remaining course of recovery aid is to eat a properly constructed post workout meal.

Tuna, Chicken, Eggs along with a multivitamin.

Its not as nutrient, bcaa, protien packed as a scientifically formulated recovery drink, but its your meal, and doenst cost extra then.
