Down 125lbs since August 2012. I’m 5’4” and started at 270+ lbs down to 145lbs now. Last fall I finally took the step to have the loose skin on my stomach removed. I’m coming up on 4 months post op next week.

My highest recorded weight was 270lbs 10 years ago. Second pic is a few months ago on my 40th birthday at 148lbs. Been hanging out there since.

First pic was from ~2012, my highest recorded weight was 270lbs. Today I’m at 150lbs (39 years old, 5’4”).

Started this year ~187. Turning 40 in 4 months and finally feel ready to really see this through. Aiming for another 20 ish lbs from here.

Feel free to add me. I've been having similar binge sessions once or twice a week and am trying to get out of that cycle.

Looks like a Ginger. :D

How does one justify using age or gender to calculate body fat exactly? Every single one of these equations uses only weight, age and gender to determine body fat percentage. You might as well say BMI = BF%. Every single one of these is useless.

The scale is probably a little off with the %, but probably not significantly. My measurements are pretty similar to yours (36,29,38 a size 8), BUT I'm 5'4" and 170lbs. I've spent a lot of time working on building muscle and losing fat and my body fat is roughly 28%. The small difference between your waist and hip…

I didn't start out losing for the wedding, but am getting married in May next year, as well, and motivated as hell to reach my goal weight by then. Spending enough on pictures that I don't want to look at them for the rest of my life and think "well, I *could* have gotten there by then, but I didn't" :) Anyone feel free to…

Alright, what I'm going to say is coming from good, helpful intentions. I looked back at your food entries for the week that you've been logging. You say you've given up sugar, yet I see snickers, smiley fries, McDonald's sandwich, crackers and bread, alcohol, etc. You say you've given up beer, yet with only 1 week of…

Do you really only eat like 5 grapes a day for breakfast??

Wedding is May 2015 and I have about 20 ish lbs left I'd like to lose. :) Feel free to add me!

I've gone from a 44DD to a 34DD, 105 lbs lost.

I'm 5'4" and started at 270lbs about 3 years ago. I'm now down to 165lbs. I've taken at least half of the last 3 years "off" from time to time to maintain my weight. About 95% of my exercise has just been walking (I do about 5-10 miles a day right now) and food wise I've just counted calories, but I use a food scale for…

That sounds more like a wet vs. dry measurement discrepancy than a completely false entry.

Is this diet change and weight gain all recent? Carbohydrates are more hydrophilic (carry more water with them) than proteins or lipids, so when you switch from Atkins to a vegetarian based diet that includes carbs, you're going to see a substantial rise in water weight. It'll steady out and you'll start losing once things…

At what dosage?? Study link? Touting science as you are, I'm assuming you actually have some science to back that up and not some blog post written by someone with a communications degree who probably just ripped the info from some other bozo's blog, etc.. The difference between any harmless or beneficial substance and a…

Nvm, reread the original post. 500 is probably on target, yeah.

Researchers can conveniently forget that correlation =/= causation when there's grant money on the line. Even still, most of the journal articles that people cite (and if you're citing any non-peer reviewed website, just stop) on asperatme, etc generally end in "well...we can't really conclude one way or another. More…

I'll do greek yogurt with 50g blueberries, 30g raspberries and 30g sliced almonds. Great texture, super filling and yum! :)

You can add me. Started at 270, down to 179 now and still at it. :) Also a Jules, too!

I use the fitbit and MFP together, make sure you have MFP set at the lowest settings (sedentary I think) so that you aren't getting credited for twice the calorie burn. I'm also pro food scale. But, I still think this particular issue is water weight.

I took a break for the last year. Just starting up again at the same weight I left off again. That said, it wasn't supposed to be a year off. I had originally thought a couple of months and it was soooooo hard to properly get started again. But, overall I feel awesome knowing that I can maintain for so long. Things are…

7lbs isn't too much for water retention at all. I can fluctuate that much in under a week. You just started insanity 2 weeks ago and my guess is the scale will start moving down again in another week or so. Just keep on keeping on.

I lost about 90lbs in roughly 7-8 months about a year ago. I started on ~1200 cals/day and kept this up for a couple of months. I was only walking a couple of miles a day most days at this point. I upped both sides of that about 3 months in to roughly 1700 cals and 6-10 miles a day. I have spent the last year maintaining.…
