Taking a Break from Losing Weight-Thoughts?

I was thinking of maintaining for about a month to give my body a break from losing weight. I've been in a catabolic state since October and lately all my brain seems to want me to do is EAT. If my brain is pushing me to eat, I feel like I should listen to it and feed myself at maintenance. Is there any evidence to show if a break in losing weight is in any way beneficial to the body? Has anybody else taken a hiatus from their deficit?

I took a break for the last year. Just starting up again at the same weight I left off again. That said, it wasn't supposed to be a year off. I had originally thought a couple of months and it was soooooo hard to properly get started again. But, overall I feel awesome knowing that I can maintain for so long. Things are going well now that I've gotten going a couple of weeks, but seriously, it was so hard to start back up. So my only advice would be to really check in with yourself about whether you can handle starting over again, etc.

I imagine it would be easy for me to start back up. I haven't changed much as far as the foods I eat, just less. I just realized that my goals are set to 1.5lbs. I though I had lowered that a while ago. I think I'm going to lower it first and see if that makes a difference for me. I'm on a roll and I'd hate to take longer to reach my goal if I don't have to.
