I was at a plateau for several weeks.....and I was eating 1200 calories a day. I decided one day (about a week and a half ago) that I was sick of restricting myself so much so I splurged a little and ended the day with about 1700 calories. The next day, I weighed in at 2 pounds down. Now, it might be a fluke, or it might…

I don't live in WV anymore, but I grew up in Hundred....not sure you have heard of it. It's about an hour from you. I graduated from a Christian high school in Fairmont. :) Oh, how I miss WV!!!

It's great that you are sad about not being able to work out. Take some ibuprofen....it should help some with the pain and swelling that comes with sun burns. I hope you feel better soon!

I do the same thing. I don't go overboard and I definitely eat enough. But if I don't measure exactly, I over estimate. Under estimating is what got me in trouble in the first place.

One of mine is opposite.....I was really surprised to see that a Boca burger was only 70 calories. I find them delicious and with a 100 calorie bun, it is filling. Of course, I loaded it with a bunch of lettuce, tomato and pickle. :) It makes me happy that I can have a burger and not have my calories for the day pretty…

That is amazing!! How cool is it when you go to try something on thinking it will be small and it is HUGE! :)

Oh my word...I would hope that my post didn't make anyone else feel bad. If I did, I apologize! But to be honest, I did feel like less of a person back then. I have always been large and have been made fun of my entire life. The first time I was called a fat a** was in kindergarten. I didn't have a single boyfriend until…

I tend to trust the scale although measurements are good too. I don't trust the mirror because I continue to see myself the same as before I started. I know I look different (people comment) and 20lbs has come from somewhere, but I can't see it.

I was thinking the same thing.

Last night we had spaghetti and meatballs. It was Ronzoni Smart Taste thin spaghetti, Prego heart smart pasta sauce and chicken meatballs. It was delicious and very low in fat! :)

What is the dinner that you are trying to "make over"? I have to make over leftovers a lot because hubby does not like eating the same thing even twice in a week.

Do you have any day that you could devote some time to cooking? You could do up some meals and then freeze single portions. That way it would be easy to have individual servings but not have to cook every night. And cooking the food yourself would allow you to control the sodium and other preservatives. You could make up a…

From his pic, he seems to be shy but sweet (my type of guy!) And he is freaking adorable!

I so want to be healthy, but I completely understand what you mean. I also have been obese since before I started school. The first time I was ever called a fat a** was in kindergarten. But since that is the case, I have gotten used to that being normal...not being noticed, feeling I was "less than" others, just existing,…

For me, the first cosmetic thing that I want is a breast lift. Second would be lipo or something for a fat deposit at the top of my butt that hubby lovingly refers to as my bump....if it doesn't go away on its own. The rest of my body is shrinking, but that bump is still the same. UGH! Next would be a tummy tuck. I'm not…

So hilarious! Am I the only one who is giggling uncontrollably? :)

I normally do 30 min or so on the elliptical....today was not typical. During this time, I do try to eat less, but if I do zero cardio, I feel blah. I know I burned a few calories (the machine says 40 although MFP says 75) but as far as increasing my metabolism....I'm sure it did nothing.

Very cool!!! Congrats....and yes, we know how important it is. It's just as important as us going down dress sizes. :)

Wow! It's not easy to look gorgeous in the middle of a volley ball game, but you did it! You look amazing!

Eating while traveling is NEVER easy! My only way to control it is making myself log what I ate. If I see one day that is out of control, I somehow guilt myself into making sure I don't eat like that again. I have only had one time away since starting MFP. I ate way more than I should have that first night at dinner. I…

It seems that some people are not happy with others being happy or growing as a person. I am thinking that she does see your changes and she is irritated that you are feeling better about yourself. (Not sure why some people are that way) She might be giving you advice thinking that you will think "What's the use? It will…

I'm sure I have no idea what you are talking about...quitting? Me? Never! Well, maybe once or twice, or a thousand times! I am proud of you that you didn't give up! It is so much easier to throw in the towel than to trudge through. :) You are an inspiration!

Congrats!!! That is so cool! I can't wait to get to the point that I can get rid of my stuff. I have worn the same clothes for years because I didn't want to buy any more big stuff. I just had to kick myself in the butt to get started.

Swimming is my exercise of choice. I always feel so good (even my muscles are screaming)! I have lost 19 pounds since I started MFP a month and I swim at least every other day (30-45 minutes). I'm sure I can't give all the credit to swimming....but it has worked quite a bit! I have never been in a swimming competition…

When I first started, I had a TON of water weight.....I just felt so bloated! So, I'm sure a good deal of my first pounds were from excess fluid. Usually when I change how I eat (or start some fad diet) I lose a lot those first weeks. I have also been working hard! I swim between 30-45 minutes at least every other day and…

When I'm doing the elliptical, I count my steps to 100, but it's only the steps of my right foot (so I guess I'm counting 200 steps). I'm not sure why, but it helps me keep going. I get to the end, and tell myself I can do another 100....I do that until I have worked out the time I decided on at the beginning.

My only tip is keep a water bottle (or drinking cup) in your hand. You will drink it without even thinking about it. Do this whenever you can...sitting watching tv, driving somewhere, if you go for a walk, etc. I have found that I can drink a liter of water on my 1/2 hour drive to work. I know it sounds silly, but it's…

Congrats! You are awesome! :)

One thing that we started doing is adding a jar of salsa (we usually go for hot and I really love the salsa that has black beans and corn in it) to spice it up a bit. We also do turkey burger instead of beef (I bet turkey sausage would be good). I have also been known to add some cubed zucchini to my chili, but that's…

My husband and I joined a gym together and paid the yearly fee...$1099. But by paying the yearly fee instead of monthly, we got 40% off. So it would have been around $150 a month. And childcare is NOT included.....we have to pay $8 per child per day for 2 hours of childcare. We could do a yearly fee for that too which is…
