  • Ezekiel muffin with blackened turkey and laughing cow cheese wedge and coffee.
  • Add me. I am trying to lose the last 80. Have lost 32 here but over 73 total. This has gotten very hard lately and for the last six months I am gaining and losing the same 3-4 pounds.
  • I love green tea and the very best green tea is Foojoy Green Tea. You may need to buy it in an Asian store but it is worth the trip.
  • Chia seeds, walnuts and raisins In summer, fresh peaches and 1/4 cup french vanilla yogurt or raspberries and lemon yogurt or blueberries and french vanilla.
  • I pressure cook steel cut oats for my breakfasts. Portion into containers and reheat in the AM with almond milk. Takes about 13 minutes to do a weeks worth of breakfasts.
  • I was in the doctors office last week for the first time in a year. As I was sitting in the waiting room, because I am a people watcher, I started to notice how many of the people who were coming in were terribly overweight. Many were on oxygen and/or using canes or limping from the heavy weight they were carrying, others…
  • No picture, but Sweet Earth Breakfast Burritos. Love the Protein Lovers. So good and great for weightlifters!
  • Have had mine for years and love it. I like not having to remember the numbers. I can go online later in the day and get all my information without needing to worry about it. It was worth it to me.
  • Elite Gold Amino Uptake from Complete Nutrition. There is a review from a user who said they can take it and still sleep after their workout...so who knows, might be worth a try. Here is a link: https://www.completenutrition.com/sports-nutrition/elite-gold-amino-uptake/
  • I agree with the weight lifting for building the muscles around those knees. A year ago I was walking with a cane because of bad knees. I started weight lifting (leg presses/leg extensions at lightest weights and low reps. I also did 10 minutes of stationary bike to start. I was feeling terrific in a matter of months. I…
  • I strength train my whole body. I really don't think you need to worry about bulking up as a woman. It just isn't going to happen unless you are spending hours in the gym. If that is what you are concerned with. A good whole body workout is best. Concentrate on one body part a day doing 3 to 5 sets of 10 reps to start. Go…
  • You don't state your age but if you are older you can get reduced gym memberships using silver sneakers. Just google it. Also, some insurance will help cover memberships if you are obese and it is a health problem so check that (especially if you have a fsa account). As far as walking, keep doing it and increase slowly.…
  • You sound like you are fighting a battle and I can tell you that one year ago I was unable to walk without a cane and was in terrible pain. In the past year I lost 45 pounds and am doing weight lifting and cardio. I am walking without assistance and am feeling better than I have in years! It can be done but IT IS NOT EASY.…
  • I am 63 and you can friend me if you need support. I have about 70 left to goal. I am taking it slow and sensibly. I am down 45 pounds so far last year, but not all on MFP.
  • 1 hardboiled egg and two cups of market side mixed veggies, steamed.
  • Add me if you want. I have 80 to go and could use some support as well. It has been a long struggle for me and I am doing this sensibly.
  • Add me. I have 80 to lose and won't quit!
  • Not the same age, I am older but I have about 80 to lose and am determined to do it without starving. I eat sensibly and work out with weightlifting and cardio five days a week. Add me if you like!
  • Really good advice Vingogly!
  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese with egg whites for breakfast. Makes a creamy scramble and I add some veggies to it, too. Very filling and stays with you all morning!
  • Rather than buy a rice steamer I bought myself an Instant Pot. It is an electric pressure cooker that has 7 different functions :a rice cooker, yogurt maker, slow cooker, soup maker, stew maker, steamer and pressure cooker. I do not use any other device now. It was the best purchase I have ever made!
  • Yes, food picture gallery, use the app: YouFood.
  • I bought the fitbit aria scale several years ago. It is accurate and easy. I weigh every day but I only look at the weekly report online once a week. I think checking your weigh daily and weekly this way give you a better picture of how you are doing and how your weight fluctuates over the course of the week.
  • The fastest way to cook steel cut oats is using an Instant Pot electric pressure cooker. I put one cup of steel cut oats in with three cups of water. Set it on manual for three minutes, put the lid on and let it cook. Natural release takes 8 minutes and breakfast is ready. I do one pot a week and divide it up. On alternate…
  • Pizza potatoes. Thinly sliced potatoes, layer with a pasta sauce, some mushrooms, some browned onions, whatever your family likes on pizza (topping wise). Bake at 425 for about 25 minutes until golden browned around the edges. If you have the extra calories you can put a bit of cheese on it but I like it with finely ground…
  • I love pumpkin butter but it is so expensive. Thanks for this.
  • Thank you all, I will look for both of these pastas. My main concern was that most gf pasta is mushy and I was told brown rice might not get mushy.
  • If you are looking towards making them more filling: Ground flax seed, chia seeds, toasted sesame seeds, toasted pumpkin seeds, nuts of any kinds, add an apple or pear which has been chopped in a food processor, add protein powder, pb 2.
  • Thanks, I will check them out.
