  • Yep! Which seems underhand and doesn't do them any favours. I am a graduate of a health coach school who teaches about MFP in one of their modules. I'm going to be contacting the founders of said school about looking at alternatives to teach.
  • That's odd! I wonder why they did that. I'm in the UK, so that tracks.
  • I started using MyNetDiary yesterday and am already enjoying the community aspect. It's probably going to take me a while to adjust to the logging though, as I've used MFP for so many years! There's an MFP migrant group, too. @Spadesheart invited me, over there. Now I see them here. Hellooo! 😆
  • Yes, I heard about that, thanks. The name puts me off though. I don't think I'm their target audience.
  • Well, it finally happened. My News Feed has gone. 😭 I ditched 50lbs over the years here and the removal of this feature is my biggest loss to date. I have been having a look around MyNetDiary, thanks to @daria0919's recommendation, and their community section seems pretty intuitive.
  • I'm going to check this one out, thank you!
  • When did they take away the barcode scanner from non-Premium users? I still have it.
  • I'm really sad about how the optimism in this thread seems to be dwindling since I last checked it, and understandably so. I've been using MFP almost every single day since March 2016. Even on the days where I didn't log food (which is pretty rare), I still checked out what other people were up to on my newsfeed. I might…
  • I'm commenting on this thread again purely so it gets bumped up to the recent activity and gives others a chance to see it.
  • I was so disappointed to find the email from MFP announcing they're getting rid of the news feed! I love keeping up with my MFPeeps there! I would miss it so much if they go ahead. Please keep the news feed, MFP!
  • Long time MFP user here. I reached my goal but still use MFP for maintenance and nutritional insights. Feel free to add me if you wish. And reach out, especially if you're struggling! As the MFP newsfeed doesn't always show me everyone's posts. Congrats on making this commitment to yourself and navigating this stumbling…
  • Well done for recommitting to your health goals!
  • Welcome to MFP! I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's diagnosis. That must have been an incredibly difficult thing to find out. I'm glad he's doing well, though. Happy to connect if you want encouragement, tips, etc. I'm active daily on MFP. I'll send you a friend request.
  • Welcome! I understand the frustration of the scales not budging, all too well. And how it can make you want to give up. But there's always hope. Metabolism can be changed, too. I see you. You can do it!
  • Awesome! Loving this energy! Welcome. You can do this!
  • Welcome!

  • Hi Tammy! Welcome to MFP. It's a great community and a very handy app, if you can overlook the glitches. 😋 I've been on it pretty much daily for 7 years, in spite of them, so it clearly has its redeeming features! 😆 You can do this!

  • Progress photos are a great way to track! It's really good that you have an awareness around what might be stopping you getting the results you want. Mindful eating is definitely a useful tool for weight loss for so many reasons! You can do this!
  • You're not ruined! Fad diets can cause problems but more helpful eating habits can turn it around!
  • You can do it! Feel free to add me. It took me many failed attempts before I started slimming successfully but I have kept it off and continue on my health journey. I'm so passionate about it that I post to help motivate others who are just starting out, whether that's for the first or 4386th time!
  • Hi Ashley, welcome back! Feel free to add me.
  • Hi, feel free to add me. I'm usually kicking around somewhere!
  • Hi Daniela! That's OK, it happens. Just get back on it and be kind to yourself. Try AllRecipes.com. You can import the recipes to MFP so they're easier to track too.
  • Hi Michelle! The MFP community is quite an active one. Great that you've jumped in!
  • Hi there, welcome back! You can do this! Add me if you like, I'm practically a permanent fixture on MFP. 😋
  • I invite you to consider a different perspective: You're not starting all over again. You managed to do it before and during that time you learnt so much about yourself and gained new experiences to equip you with lessons and tools that can propel you forwards more easily this time! I understand that you may be frustrated…
  • PS. I forgot to mention: One thing you can do for getting motivated is to change your state. Your mind responds to your physiology and vice versa. You could put some upbeat music on and sing along, or you could become aware of your posture and change it. (How would the motivated version of you be standing/sitting, etc?…
  • Hi CandiJean83. This is quite a common problem so please know that you're not alone. Motivation is not something that lasts for anyone; it naturally ebbs and flows. It's something that can be cultivated, though. I am reminded of this quote: “People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing, that’s…
  • Hi, welcome! Feel free to add me, too!
  • Welcome back! I'm an MFP long-hauler. I'll send you a FR. Feel free to reach out!
