Don't be lazy! YOU CAN DO THIS! If you haven't realized this already, you will soon realize that time FLIES and it won't be long before 18 seems like such a long time ago. I'm 28 and I'm so mad at myself for not getting in shape sooner (like, when I was your age). ALL YOUR HARD WORK WILL BE WORTH IT! Then you don't have to…

I always try to eat a protein-filled, light snack 60 to 90 minutes before working out. Everybody is different, but I feel that this gives me more stamina and energy. My personal trainer strongly suggests that I do this because it gives my body fuel to run on during the workout.

The gym I go to 98% of the time is 5 minutes from my house. Another location is 20 minutes from my house and I'm only willing to drive that far on the days the awesome zumba instructor is there!

that's awesome, well done! seeing muscle definition is always cause for excitement. keep up the great work!

That's the advertising industry as a whole. Ever noticed how cleaning/household supplies always show women? But on the rare Swiffer commercial that shows a man, he has to put a sports spin on dusting. Ugh.
-
that's so sweet! you're obviously providing a good example for your kids. WTG!
-
Absolutely! A great, energetic instructor is key. Or else Zumba will suck.

The MFP community is great! We can do this!! :)

I second this!! Also, do you use a filter at home? Might make your tap water taste better to you.

Wow... all I know is that whoever wrote that is in serious need of some confidence. She should probably also start focusing more on herself and not what she thinks other people think about her. I agree with you, vishk. Our lives are what we make of them. If there's something you don't like/don't agree with, work to change…

This might be tough for you if you're working out in the early AM, but maybe try to eat something before you workout? My trainer has always advised me to have a small snack (preferably with protein in it) 60 to 90 minutes before our sessions, and that really helps me. That way my body has some fuel to run on. I've noticed…

Agreed. Even those small cals will add up.

Truly. Any diet that involves ingesting a pregnancy hormone when you're not actually pregnant cannot be good.
-
DITTO!! Drinks lots of water.
-
If money was no object, I wouldn't have to work and I'd pay my trainer lots of money to work with me more than 2x a week! I'd also have a sweet fitness center at home with all the best equipment.

Sugar free Red Bull and vodka. Or flavored vodka and sprite zero.

I always have my phone on me and track in the MFP app as I go. Sometimes my plans change, so I don't pre-track.

I cancelled WW a few months ago. I'm new to MFP and loving it! For starters, MFP's smartphone app is exponentially better than the WW app. Also, the MFP food database kicks the WW database's *kitten*!! I did find WW challenging at times if I didn't mesh well with a meeting leader. And sometimes, depending on the leader,…

your awesome results are already plenty of inspiration! well done you!

In MO, it has been miserable! Although lately it's been in the 90s, which feels a lot better than the spell of 100s we had two weeks ago... ugh! Is it fall yet?!

So frustrating, I hear ya!! I recently started using Neutrogena Body Clear and it seems to be working well so far. I also try to keep my hair off my face during workouts. I can't control my sweat, but I figure I can at least control my hair!! LOL, well sometimes... :b

keep on with your determination and positive attitude girl! feel free to friend me if you like! :)

I put on my "Rockin' Workout" playlist and that pumps me up. Sometimes it also helps to have a light snack about 90 minutes before I go, to get my body energized a bit. The afternoon slump can be killer!

I have a hard time getting my husband to exercise with me too. If he's being stubborn, just keep your goals in mind! Use that as your motivation - WHY you want to lose weight, what inspires you to be healthier. Another idea might be to buy some new, awesome, get-up-and-go music for when you exercise. If you're going to be…

Yeah, she clearly has her own insecurities that she's taking out on you. Can you have a serious talk with her and let her know how her comments are making you feel?

I weigh 1x a week. Weighing myself everyday might make me a bit crazy/anxious, but that's just me.
-
You should definitely take it as a compliment. Your hard work is obviously inspiring to others!

First of all, losing 4 pounds is not "ZERO" results! That's still a loss of 1 pound per week, and it's only been 1 month so far! You've still started to make a lifestyle change and you have already lost some, which you should congratulate yourself on. I think it's important to keep in mind that everyone is different. There…
