I use MFP for this by entering different foods that I am considering eating, seeing what the nutritional values are, then choosing the one I will have and delete the others.

. If they are not meeting their nutritional needs, it is because they chose not to. [/quote] Or they don't have the tools, knowledge, and means to do so.

The UK Government has just labelled ALL processed meats, including bacon and sausages as being dangerous to health [cancer causing] so how can they not be bad? The World Health Organization did too.

For me, candy, potato chips, baked goods, and frozen, precooked convenience foods such as popcorn chicken, mozza sticks, etc. are BAD foods. They aren't bad in and of themselves (ok to have occasionally, in moderation), but are bad for me because they are high calorie, some are high fat & sodium, and with the fatty ones, I…

I've been told that some people go by weekly totals rather than daily. This way, you can have a treat or a meal out and still lose weight by adjusting your food and exercise over the week.

I'm 51 but high cholesterol and blood pressure. Years of looking after everyone else except me has taken it's toll. A few years ago I lost 25 lbs on MYP before family responsibilities took my time and energies elsewhere. I'm back now because I know it works.

I'm not vegan, but my daughter recently is. Her trick right now seems to be just trying out new vegan recipes to find ones she likes, and always planning meals ahead.

Welcome! This is the right place to be. Lots of supportive people and the tracking tools are super easy to use. Best wishes in your journey.

If you exercise your body will tone up and you will look and feel as though you have lost more weight. If you want to look your best for your birthday, make sure to add exercise to your plan.
-
Are you exercising? That would mean building muscle, and it weighs more than fat. How does your body feel, your clothes fit? I gain weight yet lose inches when I exercise and watch my food.

What are your weight loss challenges, and how do you managed them?

Thanks for all the support and offers to friend. Today was a tough morning. I had planned all my food last night, and made sure to have lots of healthy snacks, yet I was hungry all morning. Rather than giving up and giving in, I ate a few almonds that weren't in my meal plan, reached out for support on MFP and then had a…

When I first got progressives I had to take Gravol for the nausea I felt for two days. I stuck it out and just didn't take off the glasses. Now, I don't notice any of the issues that at first were annoying. What kinds of proteins do people choose throughout the day, and what size serving? Please don't say eggs, because…

Why did you choose low carb? Do you change the setting on the food diary to accommodate low carb, or do you just go with their preset amounts? That's all I have been doing. Wish they would separate out the fats - that's what I have to watch the most.

Today I am proud that I managed to reduce the amount of sugar I put in my coffee, yet still enjoy my coffee. I am proud that I staying within my calories even though I went out for dinner. I am proud that although I did order my favourite and high calorie/fat meal, I only ate half of it. Little victories. Right now I am…

Diet Pepsi is my first choice. Coke Zero is my second choice. My summer time favourite is Diet Coke with Lime - yum.

Oats are seeds and so is rye, wheat, etc. They are the plants' seeds. How is quinoa different than that?

Hey, you sound like me; 50 yrs old and 50 lbs to lose, only I'm looking at 60 lbs. As for meals, I did this a couple years ago and it was the best diet & exercise program for me. I wound up stopping for a combination of health and personal issues but now am back at it. Some of the things that worked best for me were: - try…

you are exercising for 45 min a day. Maybe you are building muscle. It weights more than fat.

I know it's hard to exercise when you are beat from work or other stresses, but I know for a fact it does help manage stress. Maybe try walking at lunch time or right after work? I am one of those people who is often stressed, and lacking in motivation. I'm an emotional eater and prefer to sooth myself with a bag of potato…

I swim. It's the only exercise I know of where you don't sweat. 30 minutes/day, hard enough to get my heart rate up. At first I took short breaks every 10 minutes, but quickly found that my endurance increased very soon.

What matter is what you eat, not when you eat it.

I think you can. You just have to up your exercise, either the intensity or amount of time, or find a new exercise that burns more calories than the one(s) you are doing now. I've lost more than this program tells me I should, and I know it's through exercise and making far better food choices. I love to eat, I'm just…

Keep your scale at a friend's house. Then you can't access it as often as you might otherwise.
