I use Trader Joe's brand, they're natural but pretty sure they're not organic. Whole Foods would have organic ones.

I write about video games and tech for a living, so I probably qualify.

My personal opinion is that the diets are fads. In 2011/12 the top 20 or so diets were ranked and those were placed dead last. Additionally, I think setting deadlines for weight loss can be self-defeating or even dangerous. Don't go over your calorie limit, eat healthy, and find a good macronutrient ratio.

Use vegan mayo, it's actually good for you.
-
If you're eating healthy and don't worry about naturally occurring sugar, you shouldn't have any issues staying under.
-
Short answer, if the sugar is naturally occurring, such as in milk or bananas, just ignore it. However, you mentioned yogurt, some of which can have up to 20g of added sugar. That you might actually want to try to have in moderation.

Eat PB2, it's half the calories. Or if you don't go with that, at least eat something natural like Peanut Butter and Co. or Trader Joe's. Avoid brands like Jif and Skippy.
-
East/convenient answer is to supplement your day with protein powder. I recommend Optimum Nutrition's natural line.

Love grapes in chicken salad. You should try vegan mayo, it's actually really food for you so you can eat it mostly guilt free.

This. Are you still using MFP's standard Macros settings? Because those are way off. You should aim to eat your weight in grams of protein daily, get around 25% of your calories from good fat, and then leave the rest for carbs. You can customize your macros in the same place where you change your MFP goals.

Quest pretty much has no competition in the bar department.

Calculate your calorie target. Aim to eat your body weight in grams of protein. Aim for 25% of your daily calories to come from GOOD fat. Have the remainder of your calories (after subtracting protein and fat) come from low-glycemic, complex carbs. Take a multivitamin. Eat Omega 3 like it's going out of style/take fish…

I can safely say I'm not sure how my diet would function without protein shakes, so if you don't drink those already, I'd suggest maybe trying. Talking about home made ones of course.

I would just not worry about what other people are doing. The only time I look at other people's diaries is for food inspiration. I don't care about their calories, they can do whatever they want, it's their life. Truth is that the 1200 number is completely arbitrary. It's just a convenient guideline for people that don't…

Fooducate for iPhone. Might also be on Android, not sure. I scan every single thing I buy/eat.

Haha, apologies. Apparently I just assume all thread starters are women. Correcting my earlier post.

I avoid trans fat at all costs, but fortunately I think the natural brands of peanut butter from companies like Peanut Butter and Co. and Trader Joe's taste better anyway. I've also become a big fan of PB2 in my smoothies.

EDITED: Men should try not to exceed 36g of ADDED sugar per day. So two cups (60g) of that cereal would take you to more than half your entire day's allowance just by itself, since ALL of that sugar is added. None of the sugar in the milk is added, unless you're using a weird brand. It has a small amount of saturated fat…

No. Kids are entitled to freedom of expression just like anyone else. Plus uniforms really pull into stark light the fact that out children are just cogs going through the motion in a completely broken, cynical machine. When my middle school switched to uniforms I simply refused to wear them. The teachers and principal all…

Acesulfame potassium and Sucralose (Splenda) are both controversial artificial sweeteners. FDA will tell you they're fine, lots of Doctors will tell you to avoid them, people on MFP are split (and passionate) on both sides. Personally I avoid them like the plague. Just thought it was worth mentioning since I don't think…

Never had one, but on my app that rates food based on ingredients and nutritional profile they have the lowest rating of ALL bars.

Feel free to add me. Also I write about video games for a living so feel free to talk about them with me, haha.
-
First off, I would personally suggest getting a protein powder without Sucralose and Acesulfame Potassium in it. I recommend the natural version of Optimum Nutrition. IF you're exercising you should take your protein within 30 min before and within 30 min after, if you're not exercising it makes absolutely no difference…

I think you should count everything.

Second Optimum Nutrition, I think it's unquestionably the best. I get the natural version.

Eating more protein and fewer carbs will signal your body to turn your calories into muscle and burn fat instead of muscle for energy. So in that sense, yes, macronutrients effect weight loss and body fat percentage. You should aim to eat your weight in grams of protein daily.
