I've been on maintenance for 12 months and my weight constantly fluctuates +/- 2.5lb (1.2kg) around my goal even within a week. DON'T stress if your weight fluctuates around your goal. It can have to do with how much food and water you've got on board even 'time of the month' issues can affect it. It's almost never 'fat'.

I don't have 'cheat days'. For me the idea of working hard and eating well all week only to have a day where I blow it all out of the water just seems ridiculous. But hey... That's just me and my opinion. I try to eat under my calorie goal every day but we all have days where we go over. At worst I might go over 300 or 500…

I did sincerely have a fat day yesterday but thanks for the laughs everyone. I love MFP and what a diverse community of really REALLY strange people you all are.

Slow and steady wins the race. Sorry about the lack of response to your post. Try to be your own biggest fan, your own biggest motivator, your own biggest supporter. Don't let the support of others (or lack thereof) be your principal motivator because you can't always rely on others to notice or care. YOU care. YOU notice.…

You must have mistaken me for someone else. I'm not your 'Bro'.

Nope... I'm asking why cheat days are a good idea. I'm NOT talking about going over calories some days (like special occasions)... I'm talking about dedicated "I can eat anything I want" days. Do you have an opinion or just a cool avatar?

I guess it should have been obvious the thread might be a little melodramatic when the title was "Worst idea EVER". I mean there HAVE been worse ideas... Invading Iraq?... The 'Ab Circle Pro'?... Thanks everyone for your feedback. Debate on :drinker:

Thank you :drinker:

You might wanna actually try reading my post before you get all butt hurt.

LOL I knew that would come across as 'judgy' but the reason I posted this topic on the 'support' board is that I think the 'cheat day' concept is BAD especially for newcomers. I DID go out of my way to say that going over on any particular day (like a special occasion) is NOT a cheat if it is within a weekly calorie…

Ummm... That's what I said...it's NORMAL for people to need time alone. It's NORMAL for people to need to have some space occassionally. Go to another room. Close a door. Hell... it might even be NORMAL for people to sleep separately if one of the two is a light sleeper or disturbed by the other (snoring, moves too much,…

The article makes it sound like these so-called 'empaths' are unusual or have 'special needs'. The people she describes in the article sound like NORMAL people to me. Doesn't EVERYONE need 'time out' from time to time... or am I just an 'empath' who has always assumed that everyone else is like me?? The separate room or…

Yeah the "I could always come over when the kids are asleep" thing is a bit creepy.... but it also wasn't cool for you to just go to sleep without saying goodbye. There's nothing wrong with saying "I'm tired... I'll catch you later". When someone goes silent people do usually assume that they said something wrong. That or…

Uggghh! Email me her addy and I'll get my boys onto this 'face punching' business :smokin: ... I mean 'pay her a visit'... we'll pay. her. a. visit.

Hmmm yeah. Doesn't sound like he was making much of an effort for you. Kid time is fine so long as a big effort is made when the opportunities DO arise. Not a keeper. :frown:

LOL Me too! Just read my friends post <<<< lazy Reddit user?

Wow Dana... 5 kids. You must be a busy lady. Congrats on your commitment (What choice do we have huh???) I fell in love with a lady post my divorce who had 3 kids of her own (I have 2) so we were both in 'putting the kids first' mode for a long time which I believe is the right thing to do. It meant 'us time' had to be…

Some great walks in Lamington and Springbrook National Parks although I'd be very surprised if you haven't already tried those. Let me know if you found any good ones.

The ONLY reason I sponsored a poor kid in Central America was because the girl selling sponsorships door to door had an Irish accent. I guess I just wanted to hear her talk. 5 years later I'm still paying for it :grumble: It's not easy being easy.

I actually don't know where it came from... my Dad told me. It certainly sounds Billy Connollyish.
-
Hahaha... yes it did. You are mostly right P.... broadening ones horizons and interests can be a great side-benefit to meeting (and dating) new people. Believe me I'm all for 'mixed' relationships and marriages whether it's mixed race, mixed culture or mixed religion... hell... even mixed politics... but the couple…
