  • Lost 48. Add me if you'd like!
  • This is my personal opinion but I think the whole "eat everything in moderation" philosophy is not appropriate or helpful for a food addict. At some point you have to limit your intake of trigger foods or cravings will drive you crazy and you'll never feel in control. I think starting on a stricter diet at first will at…
  • Lol. I need you to talk me off the ledge! Honestly, most days it's fear that motivates me. I've lost almost 50 lbs and I am very afraid that I'll slip back into my old habits. So I exercise everyday, which I know is probably not necessary or even healthy for my body but I almost crave it now. I feel better after I run or…
  • My husband is on it and literally has diarrhea every day. I honestly don't know how he stays on it.

  • I'm working my way up to running 3 miles a day and love it. It's the best exercise I've ever done. Today I ran 2 miles at 6 mph, which is a personal best for this turtle! Lol
  • Yep, with such a narrow weight-loss margin, you'll have to work super hard and watch your caloric intake pretty closely. Everyone recommends a food scale. Never had one and I'm still losing but it might be worth a try.
  • You've hit the much-hated plateau, sounds like. Your body is taking time to catch up to all this flurry of extra activity and nutritional changes! Perfectly normal but really really frustrating. My recommendation? First, take time to really think about and reflect on what you've accomplished. You've lost 30 pounds! That's…

  • I think your medical issues might be key. My husband takes metformin, and he has difficulty losing weight. Not saying there's a correlation but I think a doctor's visit might be in order. He/she might be able to recommend a specific nutritional and exercise plan for your specific issues. I cannot tell you how frustrating…
  • You might like 5x5 Stronglifts. They have an app you can use to help you with your workouts. Works the whole body and is progressive. I had to stop because I didn't have a lifting partner and the weights get heavy fast. So, if you are going to engage in strength training with heavy lifting, find a partner! Good luck.

  • You got this! Do it for a week and you'll be well on your way to switching mindsets. The problem is that some of us have two patterns inside of us ...the eater pattern and the healthy person pattern. It takes a bit to switch from one pattern to the other. Just give it a week. You can do it!

  • Oh my gosh! What a change. You should be so proud of yourself. It's hard sometimes to process a change like yours. Take some time to really appreciate your accomplishment. Great job!!!
  • I hear ya. I went on vacation and had a total meltdown. Couldn't work out, my calories were out of whack (at a cabin in a remote area and I didn't shop well for healthy eating). I felt totally out of control and I know it was mental more than anything else. Still processing how that happened and how I should feel about it.…

  • Just don't close your diary. It will be fine. I do that, too to balance calories. I ate a lot yesterday and haven't had anything yet today to eat. I'll be wayyyyy under but I just don't close my diary on those days.
  • You have to give yourself some grace and know that what you are trying to do is very hard. Also, if you really want to have a fighting chance, throw away the unhealrhy stuff, get some healthy food and commit to 2 weeks with no cheats. Go longer than that if you can but also remember that the first weeks are so tough, just…

  • You can do this! Focus on healthier choices and learning about all the great things your body can do like running a mile or lifting 50 pounds or even just moving more than you did yesterday. Good luck! You got this!!
  • I've done that lots of times...it's almost like self-sabotage...you get so close and then let it all slip away. Here's what I am doing to help myself, maybe it qill help you. I am setting my goals differently...instead if pounds lost, it's miles run, pounds lifted and other accomplishments. I am focusing on learning about…
  • Being cold all the time (I actually hate this one). Deadlifting 100 pounds...not alot but it is to me! Being visible again....people see me, I am not invisible anymore. People treating me different now that I am almost 50 pounds lighter...some good, some not. Wearing my wedding dress 21 years later! That was fun.
