Yes, thank you. It's always said to me in the spirit that there's something defective about me, that will eventually right itself. That's why so many child free folks here are being defensive. Friends, family, and even strangers are constantly telling us the thing we want for ourselves is wrong.

THIS! I am sick to death of hearing that I'll change, like it's a silly teenage phase. I'm 35. No.

I'm 5'6" & currently 180ish, a size 10/12 or Medium pants/skirts, and Medium or Large shirts - I can fit into many Small sized knit dresses (Target brands and similar), since I have a slim waist and hips. Yay for apple-shaped!
-
I don't know any currently :( I don't care about age at all, but I'm friends with very few child free people these days. I saw some promising groups on Meet Up though, so there's hope!

Thanks for the tip! I'm in Chicago, and just looked some up on Meet Up.

Great thread - thanks for starting this. I had no idea there were so many like minded folks out there. I am currently surrounded by friends and family who are actively, purposely, procreating. I have to keep making younger friends to avoid baby prattle.

A couple of 3/5 or 4/5 ones (I don't care about matching GW), but no twins - I looked through all the pages. 5'6" 35 years old CW:180-185 lbs GW: around 160 female no kids You can just send me a friend request - no need to reply here :)

Yeah, it was fennel. The grocery store called it anise by mistake. It's gone now, but I'm going to try some of these recipes on other things! Thanks!
-
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO COMMENTED! (I hope I replied to you all) The fennel/anise has been consumed. I will never buy it again, but am glad I gave it an earnest try. I hope this thread helps future accidental anise/fennel purchases, and/or current anise/fennel lovers.

Yep! I never thought I'd come across the one thing I hate. I think it's good to broaden tastes and not get bored :) But I also CANNOT throw away unspoiled food, when there are so many starving folks in the world.

Wow, this sounds so good, I almost wish I had some left to try the recipe. Good to have this for future new foods. Thanks!

Be prepared to dedicate time at the grocery store! You're going to have to read all the ingredients of everything you get, and compare things to other things to find stuff you like (I can't have gluten, so I've spent literally hours at stores, learning how to shop). If you hate this stuff, find a way to reward yourself for…

Thank you! I did try roasting, and it helped.

:)

Hahaha! Indeed.

Yes, I think this recipe with sausage even sounds tastier. Thank you!
-
This is very well put! I have an extraordinary sense of smell, so that probably has a lot to do with it. I don't require many spices, salt, or condiments on my food, and I can taste even the lightest hints of flavor in things.
-
Interesting - I may try this with a few other things, too. Thanks!

YES. Those awful Jingle cookies look so innocent and festive... then BAM: mace-flavored.
-
Yes, it definitely smells more like licorice than tastes, but I still couldn't voluntarily consume it again. It's nice to try new things, though!
-
Thank you! I do try for "colorful"

I live in a city apartment, with no outside space for plants. BUT, I would absolutely do that if I could.
-
You guys are great - thanks for all the tips and suggestions. I got drunk and powered through some of it last night, to see if I could. It was terrible, but I do feel like a better person. I just can't throw away food. I'm going to cook the rest with lots of other things, and then NEVER BUY IT AGAIN. Now, before I get…

I actually bought the raw produce (fennel? It said "anise" at the store) so I'm stuck with some bulbs of the world's cruelest vegetable (second place would be okra).
-
Wow, that actually makes it sound delicious. Thanks!!
-
Oh, tea! That's a marvelous idea! Thanks!
-
Because no one else will have eaten it either.
-
Hahaha - YES. This is exactly what occurred!
-
Haha - character building.
-
I'll try it - thanks!
