  • I agree with other posters here. I am insulin resistant and without actually logging my food, i would have no idea how many carbs i eat everyday. I work full-time and work out 5 days a week and sometimes don't feel like logging but that's what i have to do to stick to my eating plan. It's called commitment. I try and eat…
  • To see how much I need to eat I used my BMR and my TDEE. Do a search on here and you will find out tons of information on these subjects. You can use the numbers to get an idea how many calories you should be eating for the day
  • I bought my Polar FT4 on Amazon.
  • good job for completing it!
  • You have a good HRM, i would go with that number
  • I was just about to put this one down. I thought the gym was for working out, not being on your phone the entire time. Number 2 is when I am in a small hot sauna with you and your music is turned up so loud in your headphones i could hear you from outside the door. That's not necessary. You can't possibly be that deaf.
  • I used to drink 3-4 cans of absolutely zero a day. I have since brought it down to one a day in the afternoon when i am at work. i dont like the taste of coffee so its a little pick me up for long afternoons. I know drinking as much as i used to is bad, but i dont think one a day is going to kill me.
  • @etaylor- good thing you knew your limits and gave yourself time to heal from your injury. very smart to just walk yesterday. day 9 for me! i burned 517 calories doing a 3.25 mile walk/run. I am very excited because i did this run outside. last year, i tried to run outside up all my hills and i ended up hurting my hip…
  • One i made tonight was delicious: 1 banana 1 cup blueberries 1 Tbsp. homemade peanut butter (peanuts and coconut oil) 1 cup cocunut/almond milk 2 scoops chocolate fudge protein powder

  • I have PCOS and the insulin resistance to go along with it. I eat egg whites, canadian bacon and a piece of toast in the morning and if you microwave the egg, it can be done in like 1 1/2 minutes. also, at sams i can buy special K flat bread breakfast sandwiches and they have like 20g carbs in them, so they are good if i…
  • The ones with shrimp and rice are good. Nice portion size as well
  • thanks caffee, i will have to try that powder mix. and thank you etaylor for the encouraging words. today is a lot better. I got up an ran a few errands and even went to the gym (day 8). I think part of my caffeine addiction is to think i need caffeine in order to perform when i work out, so i proved myself wrong and did…
  • Day 7-did a 2 mile walk this morning. i havent worked out in two days because i have been so tired. like, worse than i ever felt. today is my 3rd day without caffeine and i am kind of starting to wake up today, but its a slow process. I decided to quit drinking caffeine becuase i was drinking too many energy drinks…
  • Today is day 6....previous post of day 4 was walking and running day 5 which brings me to today. I did a 2.25 mile walk again today at my house. Also, 75 squats that i am doing for my challenge. I also thoroughly cleaned my house so i am sure i burned quite a few calories doing that. Then, i made homemade peanut butter and…
  • Your freezer is your friend. I freeze almost anything either as a leftover or as extra of something that i bought on sale. Meat can be super cheap on sale and if you freeze indiviual servings, there are more meals in the future and you dont have to worry about it going bad. Good luck ;)
  • Day 5-so, i did go to the gym and truly felt that i could do some running, so i did. i ran 2 miles without stopping! I walked another 1/2 mile and then did a little leg work. I signed up for an ab challenge but today is day 2 and my shoulder (an old rotator cuff injury) has started hurting again. I think I will not be able…
  • I could not find the new thread yesterday so i am going to post for yesterday since i havent worked out yet today. Day 4-walked in my town again. i just love the hills. i keep my heart rate above 140 almost the whole time with an average pace of 3.8mph and my heart rate monitor has me at burning 377 calories for 44 minutes…

  • Just be patient and try adjusting your calories. I would suggest finding the threads on BMR and TDEE and go from there. Best of luck!

  • I want to do this, sounds great....i have never worked on my abs, should be fun!
  • Day 3-long walk woke up and felt like a long and very hilly walk today. Did 4.76 miles and averaged about 3.4 mph. Was actually taking it easy today and i ended up challlenging myself more as i was walking.
  • thanks for all the good stories of hope when it comes to this nasty little pooch. i have one and it drives me crazy. I like the idea of eating a little cleaner. Im going to try that
  • I always go over on my fats because i eat a lot of almonds and cashews. Usually an ounce of each everyday. I am pre-diabetic so i have to watch my carbs. I guess i make up for it with what i would hope are healthy fats.
  • I am wanting to run so bad but the jostling of my wrist only a week after surgery worries me. I need to wait until next thursday when i get my sugical wrap off and the stitches out. I guess when you are used to working out everyday, you miss it. And yes, runkeeper is an app i just found for my iphone and it is free. It…
  • Day 2- Started using runkeeper app this morning. Very nice app for tracking speed and distance. I did 2.5 miles and averaged 3.8 mph. It even gave me my elevation number since I have tons of hills in my small town. Might walk later tonight to burn extra calories but it depends how I feel.
