  • Remember, a person's bottom is semi-liquid, and without exercise it will spread and expand to fill the area you use to sit.
  • Just log it in for today, plan on eating a bit under tomorrow. I think it is important to log accurately, as if you stall or plateau, you have an accurate record to figure out why.
  • Welcome back, and thank you for serving. You'll reach your goals, you're motivated and dedicated. Best of luck on your journey.
  • Being considerate does not equate to being 'soft' on someone - but being supportive and firm with what needs to happen is also effective. To paraphrase 'A slap to the face - that's insulting. A slap to the back of the head - that's a wake-up call'. Verbally abusing someone isn't necessary, nor is sugar-coating it. I thing…
  • Again - drop the Redbull. Those things are loaded with sodium, plus a litany of other things that are no good for your system. My personal vice is coffee - I understand having a caffeine addiction. But carbonated drinks (especially soda-like ones) are chock full of stuff your system is better off without. Keep plugging…
  • My go-to is that 'my physician told me I have to..." I find people give crap about diets, but shut it when you're under Dr.'s orders.
  • Remember, one isolated day once in a while is not what got us all on this site. Enjoy the day, celebrate (responsibly), and have a great time. The day after, back to what you know is working for you and making you feel better. You'll feel better about it if you accept it as what it is: an abnormality in your routine. Enjoy…
  • Best first tip - track EVERYTHING you ingest. Do not lie about it - you are only lying to yourself, and the mirror is the ultimate truth-teller. Just log it. Don't feel guilty about what you've had, just use the information to make better choices moving forward. If you cheat, binge, fall off the wagon, pig out, whatever…
  • Also - are you weighing in the morning before any intake, or evening? Consistency is the key to accurate tracking, and I would recommend the AM before any consumption, but after the morning ablution.
  • Let's be honest. No one is as hard on us as we are on ourselves looking in the mirror. So, why make it harder on anyone else? Being supportive and constructive makes everyone feel better.
  • Donuts. The thought invokes my gag reflex. I worked in a Winchell's Donuts in high school, and have not had one since 1985. After watching them being made, and who was making them, no more. Can't do them.
  • Something that works is the "Under physician's advice, I cannot have ______". This is not strictly a falsehood, as there is always some doctor somewhere that is against having something. People tend to roll over the statement 'I'm on a diet' or 'I'm watching what I eat', but they almost always back off when this comes from…
  • While an occasional skipped day is not overly detrimental, make sure you start easy in the AM with some juice or such. Intermittent fasting can be a weight loss tool, but it is better if planned for and not emotionally motivated.
  • One of the things I have found that works the best: Write down EVERYTHING that you intake. Food, fluids, all of it. Do not fudge, cheat, lie, be brutally honest. That makes you really examine what you are taking in. I found that it also makes me think before I have something, knowing I will be accounting for it. Even if…
