Hiya
i've recently joined and I need to loose weight for my wedding next may, i need to drop 2 dress sizes or hopefully more
i've always been a yoyo dieter and at the moment im trying special k for brekkie and lunch with a meal for tea and regular excersise and some snaks between
i just dont understand why it gives me more calories on this website to eat when i work out? i though i needed a calorie deficit to loose weight? :S
the excersise im trying to do in a normal week would be gym- cardio and light weights (15kg 10-15 reps three times)
walking and some sit ups in the house and on the stepper too. im doing this about 4-5 night a week
if anyone has any recomendations for me PLEASE help!
and if you look at my diary you'll see red bull every day.. yes, im addicted to it. ive cut down from about 4-5 a day to 1 or 2 now but its hard cutting it out altogether
im 13 stone 8lb at the moment which is 190 lbs
thank you lauren xx

Do you have your settings so that people can view your diary? Because I don't see it. :-)0
-
sorry, just changed it to public x0

your diary doesn't look bad at all. The one thing I can say though is cut the red bull!0
-
I would suggest cutting down on carve and supping your protein.0
-
Sry---my typing was off. Tried to say you might want to cut back on carbs and increase your protein. This might give you better results.0

The Red Bull is weighing you down... can you try and kick it, and/or opt for the sugar free ones??0
-
Red Bull for breakfast is not great...
Could you maybe try to kick that one and have one with lunch/snack as a "reward" for doing so...0 -
Drop the Red Bull it is not good for you anyway. If you have to have one do sugar-free. I personally like more variety in my foods, I say drop back on the carbs and up your protein and I would add calcium to monitor :-) just a suggestion.0

I would say cut out the Red Bull and add some fruit, veg and protein into your diet.0

Again - drop the Redbull. Those things are loaded with sodium, plus a litany of other things that are no good for your system. My personal vice is coffee - I understand having a caffeine addiction. But carbonated drinks (especially soda-like ones) are chock full of stuff your system is better off without.
Keep plugging away, and work on adding in physical activity.
Good luck!0 -
I saw hash in there. That is VERY high in sodium so you may want to be careful on what you consume. A lot of food is high in sodium. Everything else looks great as far as you balancing out your calorie intakes during the day. :-) Congrats on your wedding, btw!!0

THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE PEPS.. WILL TRY MY BEST TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT EVERYTHING SAID AND REPOST IN A FEW WEEKS WITH HOPEFULLY A SUCCESS STORY! =D X0

the calories you're eating seem fine, but the quality of the foods youre eating is a little bit lacking!
i look at calories like money - if i'm going to spend a bunch of them on something, i want it to be worth it! like, i could use up a bunch of my daily allowance on a can of coke, or for the same amount of calories i could have some fruit and some cheese and some rice crackerst, and then i'd actually feel satisfied, rather than just not thirsty and pretty caffeinated
you asked about it adding extra calories when you exercise - it's because the basic allowance it gives you basically covers your nutritional requirements for living your day to day life. if you're working out, you need to feed your body more to make up for it. I know it seems backward, but honestly, if you're working out and not giving your body the extra calories it needs, you'll find that your weight loss won't be as good.0 -
the reason you can eat more calories when you exercise is because MFP has a deficit built into the number of calories it gives you before exercise. if you dont eat back the exercise cals you can create too big a deficit (if you are not significantly overweight) and your body stops losing fat and will burn lean muscle instead0
