^ That's what I meant to say. My apologies for being snarky.

I guess MFP is encouraging eating disorders now huh?

^^ This explains the know-it-alls in just about every thread on the boards... OP: if 1200 works for you then don't let these PhD's tell you differently

Great thread.. My sweet tooth likes to wake up in the evenings also :)
-
I haven't lost enough to reward myself but it's a great idea!

:)

This thread is not solely about me. Point is.. Certain devices may not be for everyone. I've only read the positive stories on here about Fit Bit so I threw my two cents in. Einstein..

I probably should have mentioned that I have an addictive and obsessive personality so it's just not a good mix for me.

Does she have a "gym bag"? Slip a polite note into it.
-
Thank you for all the replies! I guess I'll set aside my fear of the gym and go take some lessons :)
-
I should have added - I took Prozac for a long time a few years ago, and GAINED TONS. But, I wasnt exercising or counting calories. I was dealing with a horrible time in my life and honestly I think the weight gain was due to my emotional eating, and probably not the med itself.

I have afternoon cravings also. I saw, at the store the other day 100 calorie mini-pretzels dipped in chocolate. I didnt buy them and won't until I'm further on into my journey, as I'm afraid they might trigger a junk-food binge... but if you like those kinds of things, they'd be perfect for a salty/sweet fix. :)

I want to have a heart attack just LOOKING at the stairmaster..

Tired of being fat.
-
5'7 and 192?? That's not even that bad. By reading your first post I assumed off the bat that you were 400+ lbs judging by the doctor's recommendations. I hope you are able to straighten it out soon. :)

One day at a time :)

Wow @ some of the things folks have been told... it's one thing to be blunt, to the point and not beat around the bush. But it's another thing to be a straight *kitten*!

I've given up on every "diet" I've ever attempted. But for some reason this time around seems different. I'm not viewing this as a diet, I am making healthier choices and can still have junk food (not condoning it) as long as it falls within my allotted calories. I've been walking my dogs a lot more also... If I do fall…

My doc didnt tell me I am fat. I told her I am. She gave me statistics on obesity then offered to prescribe appetite suppressants and offered to send me to a nutritionist and even gave me handouts on what to eat, servings, etc. After beating around the bush for another year or two I decided to try it the old fashioned way:…

Each and every reply on this thread is inspiring. Thanks

I'm 41, fat and foxy so feel free to add me. I have 70+ to lose.. :)
-
I have about 70 to lose (give or take) and haven't set a date... I'm just going with the flow, counting calories and burning calories.. :) Would love more friends also.
-
Or, just eat it and log the calories and exercise to offset some of it..
-
I cannot wait to hit that mark. Congrats!!! :]
-
Uh.. I'm not a physician but you should probably not wait for a call back and just head to the ER...
-
Beautiful! Thank you for the inspiration! :)

I've done it in the past, many times. This time around I am bound and determined not to, because it didnt get me anywhere before.. except fatter. Plus I know I can have "junk" on occasion as long as it fits into my daily calorie allotment. :)
