The way I understand this label is for 100g if pasta weighed out from after cooking. FYI in my neck of the woods most pasta varieties including penne recommend to allow 70g dry per person and I routinely do 55-60g instead.

I was feeling really bummed about my running because I just feel super slow. Yesterday I was doing C25K week 8 and as I was plodding along I convinced myself I get slower every week (because you go further). Then I passed W7’s endpoint with about 3 minutes left of the podcast - so clearly I kept around the same pace!! And…

I just got back down to 100kg (I was there mid April then bounced up to 105 and now back down). New mini goal is 95 kg just to put some comfortable distance to the triple digits. After that my next target will be 92kg to move into simply overweight territory on BMI scale.

After a a week or so of hitting the chocolate hard I seem to have turned a corner and have been craving fruit instead. Tonight I went to the store to buy strawberries and pineapple instead of being tempted by the remaining chocolate stash. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this happened just as the weather turned warm…

I weigh weekly and take measurements (neck, chest, waist, hips, thigh, calf, upper arm) every 6 weeks or so. Every now and again (probably monthly) I’ll get an urge to work myself through my wardrobe and try on items to see if I’m getting closer. Lately I’ve also started taking photos specifically of clothing items I want…

I try to make my targets for habits or activities instead of weight, and I try to make those positive (do this) instead of negative (avoid that). My idea is that enough positive goals will crowd out the time and space I have to do less optimal things. My weight is going down, but even when it isn’t I know my fitness is…

Perhaps you’re doing too much too soon. I’m currently having to pace myself and my newfound joy of movement. I’ve had a steady daily walking and yoga regimen since November but started playing padel (racquet sport) in January and took up C25K in April which replaces some of the walking. Right now I get invited to play up…

I haven’t been doing great the last week or two. The chocolate stash and cheese drawer have been dipped into way more than intended and I’ve felt bad about it even while trying to kee my spirits up by the fact that I’ve entered week 4 of C25K (a win in itself). Today I met a friend for lunch who I haven’t seen for 2…

Yes I did 😊 and I even started running ahead of time. originally I wasn’t going to do C25K until after this goal but I just felt so darn motivated so I started week 3 today. New mini goals are 92kg (overweight BMI) and completing C25K.

I hit my goal to get under 100kg today! Next stop 92 kg since that would bring me into the overweight BMI class. Hoping to accomplish this by mid-June.

I have an extra thin sticky manduka yoga mat that packs up super small as well as an extra long extra wide yoga mat from another brand that is regular thickness. I like both and use them for yoga (primarily ashtanga). I usually keep a cheap IKEA blanket next to my yoga stuf and gold that up for extra padding when needed. I…

Went for pizza, ate half and brought the rest home. That’s the second time I’ve managed to eat pizza until I was full instead of until it was finished!! I also walked there and back in order to avoid using public transportation - 18K steps. Pretty good day so far.

I managed high side planks in my yoga practice this morning!! Grantees I still have both feet on the floor rather than stacked on top of each other but at least my legs are both extended instead of planting one foot for support. I’ve been back in my yoga practice for 3 months working my way through Yoga with Adrienes…

I went for my first run! Day 1 of C25K. I woke up this morning to snow on the ground which was unexpected but didn’t let that deter me! I even had to run past a fairly long queue of people and I was feeling rather self conscious (104 kg huffing and puffing) but it was only for a minute and I came out the other side OK. I…

My running jacket fits again and I’m roaring to start c25k. Picking up some headphones this evening and will do my first run tomorrow! I have also suggested a monthly step challenge at work since we’re all WFH and trying to remember to go outside for fresh air and spring sunshine.
-
I’ve just decided that the time is right to start C25K!! I was going to wait until I was under 100kg (arbitrary target) but the weather is glorious, I’m WFH and I’ve been getting the urge to start running when out on my daily walks for I’m jumping in!

I realised yesterday that my sport bras are no longer uncomfortable. I could barely squeeze into them at the start of the year and they were really digging into my rib cage. Yesterday I voluntarily wore it for hours (didn’t shower after yoga and went for a long walk later in the morning) and realised that it was so comfy!!

I’m WFH since a week back and taking 3 walks a day has allowed me to not only maintain but even increase my step goal as well as getting my mind to snap back and forth from work mode. I also shifted my yoga practice to mornings now that I don’t have a commute, still a bit of a struggle but keeping at it! Finding good…

To ger under 100kg. 103 tight now and moving along at a decent clip. I should be able to hit it by Easter!
-
We’re working from home right now and since I no longer have a commute I’ve shifted my schedule: - wake up 20 min earlier to do yoga in the morning instead of after work - Short walk before starting work to readjust and a lunchtime walk in my neighbourhood to get out and about. - Longer walk in the evening (I normally walk…

This is still one of my mini goals, but I achieved another one on the way. As of today I’m 105kg! 5kg increments have been one of my standing mini goals so far. I’m extra excited because the last 2 weeks have been slightly more relaxed want contained pizza, chocolate and crisps. Hopefully this will help my mind relax and…

Today I finally felt confident enough to just out the tape measure and get some data points for future comparison. I don’t have any recent data to compare it too, but it will be my baseline for the coming months. I also wore the too-tight jeans I posted about a couple of weeks back. They fit OK now but I can definitely…

I’ve been working to increase my step goal. I averaged 9190 steps per day in February and my mini goal for March is to average 10 000.

We went out for a celebratory lunch with the office to an Italian place. After a lot of consideration I ordered pizza like most others. It was amazing. However I only ate half and boxed the rest up to take home with me. I wasn’t even embarrassed about it (taking leftovers from a restaurant is uncommon here). I do however…

A couple of things I would think about: 1) if dinner is often a long wait away, can it move earlier in the evening by clever food prep so it’s never more than 20mins away from when you get home? 2) could you plan a snack right before you leave the office? At one point I had a green smoothie every afternoon to stop a blood…

I declined the regional treat for Mardi Gras offered at the office today. In Sweden it’s traditionally a large cardamom bun with almond paste and whipped cream. I decided the store-bought kind isn’t tasty enough and passed. Maybe I’ll have a mini home-made one at my parents’ house at a later date, maybe not.

If nothing alters my regular routine I stop eating at 7pm, right after dinner. This is mainly because anything eaten after this time tends to be a poor choice and eliminating the time instead of the food is easier for me. If dinner is later for some reason I’ll work around it. I also find that I sleep better and get a…

I would really like to be under 100kgs by my birthday 15th April. I’m 108 kg right now, and depending on any changes in my rate of loss it seems quite achievable.

Scales are for fish  I particularly liked “Work on Your Spiritual Growth and Weight Loss Will Follow” as I’m slowly learning to be kinder to myself during this journey.

Good work!!! Don’t let this person derail you or diminish your accomplishments. Walk proud!
