  • Kettlebell Swings are excellent.
  • Sounds like somebody's craving attention!
  • Measuring cups are wildly inaccurate...a food scale is worth every penny, and once you get used to using it, it's really nice! Everything gets measured in grams. Also, the exercise calories burned on here are not often very accurate, so be sure to not eat back everything you "earn". A pound a week is awesome, especially if…
  • Walking is great cardio! Just go at a nice brisk pace, like you're running late for something important!
  • Don't try it, you'll love it too much. So refreshing. Get a food scale and count calories if you want to lose weight.
  • Please don't assume you're "doubling the calorie burn" on anything ever. A walked mile burns effectively the same number of calories, give or take 10-15 calories--no matter the speed. Incline is great but, still. You wouldn't want to shoot yourself in the foot by eating your "double earnings" back. Just walk comfortably, at…
  • Hey! I'm also a 1200er and I stick with eating the 50% of the exercise calories unless I have a very vigorous day--like run in the morning and ride my bike 30+ miles at night kind of day. If it's one of those days, I just eat until I'm satisfied while being mindful--sometimes that means going over, sometimes that means…
  • Fitness blender rocks! Great people!
  • Just wake up an hour earlier and get it done in the morning before work!
  • That's a healthy and lovely weight for your height, it's in my preferred range at 5'3"
  • It's going to be slow, you're short like me...we just use less energy than most. Like Queenliz mentioned, a scale might help you a little bit--but even at a pretty low intake, we just don't generate a high deficit. I had to start walking a few miles each night in addition to my workouts to get any faster movement on the…
  • Maybe he needed those extra calories? Are you doing identical portions in these healthy prepped meals? My husband can eat almost 500 calories more than me and still be at a larger deficit each day. (I'm really short, he's really tall, neither of us have much to lose.) If I expected him to eat exactly the same as me, he'd…
  • Eggs are awesome! The "bad for you" BS came about during that whole "low-fat" craze in the 80's and 90's. They're actually quite beneficial for you, and they are a great protein source in convenient little low calorie doses. You can enjoy them every which way and they are always delicious. I eat them for a minimum of one…
  • Hmmmmm...you don't want to eat less and you don't want to move more....soooo.... Your new goal should be to have an 8 ball on hand at all times. B) ....I kid, I kid..... Honestly, you've done an amazing job so far. Your new goal should be playing with new foods. You may find cutting calories down further isn't as scary as…
  • Make sure you're stretching, and eat a banana or two about 20 minutes before you start. Micros can have a big effect on your workouts--pay attention to iron, potassium and sodium. Rest is good too...it allows your body a chance to build itself. I like to just cut my workouts down big time if I'm feeling burnt out. That way…
  • Super cool and kicking some major *kitten*....
  • Start with swings, for sure....but I also love presses, halo, goblet squat, and sumo deadlift. That's pretty much my full body routine, maybe some windmills and alternating rows. I honestly got pretty overwhelmed with "routines" at the start, so I just started focusing on learning the most perfect form for each exercise…
  • Keep walking if you're worried about hurting yourself. You don't need to exercise at all to lose weight. Just cut your calories, weigh and track your food. (Calculate your TDEE and create a deficit from there) Walking is great exercise, good for the mind and body. If you do decide to try C25K again, go as slowly and gently…
  • I would call CPS...but I'm an *kitten* who thinks parents who can't manage (read:neglect) to feed their kids properly need some guidance from the state.
  • Feel free to add me! I eat lots of pizza and craft beer, green smoothies and highly nutritous meals too! Usually in the 1200-1400 range, 103 day streak but cutting calories for only 4 weeks and down 1.5 per week! I'm "naughty" often, I really don't sweat it if I eat a bunch, because even on my "worst" day's I manage to be…
  • Willpower is a like a muscle, you have to exercise it for it to get stronger. Every time you give up you're missing an opportunity to exercise your ability to bounce back. Keep at it, one day off the wagon is better than two. Every day is a new day. Get realistic. No sense crying over spilled milk. Yes, it will take a…
  • Coach, this is *kitten*. To be at the point that you're encountering "metabolic shut down" you literally need to be on the verge of hospitalization for low body weight. She has plenty of energy stored up....thats what adipose tissue is, she could eat nothing and still have plenty of energy to use. Stop the *kitten*.
  • No, drinking once a month is fine, just don't eat a *kitten* ton of greasy drunk food, remember that one day can set you back pretty far. If you're mindful, you can have a fun day and not put yourself in a giant hole. *kitten*, I go out for pizza and beer once a week and still stay under my caloric limit. Working out isn't…

  • I make a slaw that is very similar to this (I add sweet bell peppers and carrots) http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Spicy-Napa-Cabbage-Slaw-with-Cilantro-Dressing-243168 and serve it with either chipotle chicken or blackbeans. It's a great combo to make ahead for lunches. Just slice your cabbage very thin.
  • Check out http://www.reddit.com/r/fitmeals ....one of my favorite sites for ideas is ohsheglows.com ....green smoothies are always an easy way to get lots of nutrients or replace/supplement a meal. Here's a post about prepping a months worth of smoothies in one day-->…
