  • Personally I think that WW give too much freedom now! I have been using MFP pretty consistently since January and have lost more weight than I would have on WW. The key is to make heathly choices, and portion control. In addition, exercise is a MUST. I have tried everything out there, and this has worked better than…
  • I have learned to not call it a "cheat day", instead I call it a "reward day"... Cheating is a bad thing, but rewards are good!!!! Instead of cheating, reward yourself for all the good you have done. In doing this, I seem to make better choices and don't go crazy. I make sure I still log everything and if I go over, try to…
  • I was just going to say about the same thing. there is no magic number. 1200 calories is a GENERAL GUIDELINE. How could the "bare minimum" be the same for everyone? I use 1200 as my goal, and try not to eat my exercise calories. I generally go over (what MFP suggests) on protein and fiber, but not carbs and fat. Still I…
  • Definitely feel free to add me. MFP has been great so far for me! The people are very supportive, it's nice to see that you're not the only one going through the issues - because doesn't it really feel that way sometimes?? Good luck to you! WE can do this!!! Tracey
  • I too weigh in on Monday. Friday used to be my day and I would totally go nuts on the weekend and spend the rest of the week trying to lose what i gained on the weekend. I got nowhere fast! I agree too that the food log is a huge motivater! I don't want all my MFP friends to see a bunch of junk in my log!!! Good luck to…
  • Try either Oikos or Fage brands. I like them MUCH better than the other brands I have tried. Oikos has one with honey in the bottom and you mix it in - YUM! However, I like all kinds of yogurt. I have told friends of mine that if you're not a yogurt fan to begin with, Greek yogurt is probably not for you. Good luck to you!
  • Definitely be sure to take your measurements! A little over a year ago I started watching what I ate and working out in a gym. I TOTALLY changed what I was eating as well as portion sizes. In a few months I had only lost 7 lbs. However, I lost 2 inches from my waist, 3.5 inches from my hips!! I was making changes that I…
  • I am sorry you have to go through this. Here is my thought... Would she even be considering ending the affair if you hadn't found out? She got caught and now she is scrambling to do and say what you want to see and hear. I am not saying jump right over to the divorce attorney's office, but really think about her…
  • One of my favorite quick breakfasts is greek yogurt (Oikos is my fav, and has 0 fat) with granola (bare naked peak flax with blueberries is my fav). low fat, high protein and oh-so-yummy!!! Good luck to you!!
  • I have the same problem, thanks for posting this question!!!! It has helped me too! Good luck to you!! Tracey
  • If you always do what you've always done, you always get what you always got...
  • AMEN!!!!! This is your opinion and I absolutely, 100% agree with you! I don't feel that you are being judgemental AT ALL! What it seems like to me, is that you are trying to save people from the failures that you have already encountered! I am 44 years old, and still when I hear that ad that says "lose 10 lbs in two weeks…
  • Now that's funny!!!!
  • I used to live in Beulah, and Bear Lake!
  • Me too!!!
  • I bought the book and read it all. I could never bring myself to even start the jump start/detox, or whatever they call it. I have a really hard time following a strict menu like that. I do use some recipes from the cookbook though. I have always had a weight problem and even though the only time I have lost any…
  • Hello to you! I started here at MFP a little over two weeks ago. The first thing I realized was how many calories and fat I was eating that I "forgot". ie. flavored creamer in my coffee, fast food, etc. Logging my food really has helped me to make better decisions. I have not given up the coffee with creamer, I just don't…
  • building some muscle will help, but sometimes our skin loses some elasticity with age. I'm not sure how old you are, but a bit of strength training will help. Good luck to you!!!
  • WOW!!! You look incredible!!! Thank you for sharing - so motivational!!! Congratulation!!
  • WOW! Thank you so much for sharing this! I too am a mother and cannot even begin to imagine how you must have felt writing those notes to your children. Thank God it went well and you have been given this second chance. Good luck to you in your journey! :flowerforyou: You have given me new eyes to see through - thank…
  • Hi there! I am new here too. I have my first weigh in tomorrow morning. :) I have 78 lbs to lose to get to my final goal. I have been working out at the gym 3 days a week, for the past 2 weeks, and try to do something (wii or a video) all the other days at home.. So far so good... I have found that logging my food is…
