Absolutely! I think when people ask me how I lost weight I tell them the food logging is the key. I'd exercised before 0ff and on and "dieted" from time to time even losing about 10 pounds with nutrisystem. (Yuck) The single -most important factor in my losing 30 pounds this last year was making myself accountable for the…

I'm right there with you in the parenting craziness. I work full-time as a high school teacher and am the mom of 4: 15, 14, 4 and 1. Yes, the last 2 were very surprising additions given the fact that I'm 45 now. Since my older girls are in high school, there are so many activities to take them to and from. Me time surely…

Congratulations! With 5 kids I appreciate the effort it must have taken to begin this fantastic journey. You look great! By the way you have cheekbones to die for!!!! Keep up the good work'

I work outside the home and have kids including a one year old so I have to get up early to exercise or it just doesn't get done. What has worked for me ( it's just a bit embarrassing) is that I sleep in my workout clothes. Yes, every night I put on my leggings and sportsbra and leave my socks tucked into my shoes beside…

Ditto all the positive support! You definitely are not alone in this situation. I think most of us have been through the dieting cycle where you deprive yourself and lose, then go right back to your same bad habits and gain it back and then some. Don't beat yourself up. Just keep in mind that healthy eating and exercise…

My biggest change has been to stay away from second helpings. I love to eat and easily could down two servings of everything but I now find after a few months of careful eating that I've become satisfied with just one serving. That has made all the difference for me.

OK call me the worst mother in the country, but I let me 4-year-old use my ipad. No I'm not made of money; he just took it one day and took to it like crazy. We've downloaded some fun apps that he loves, but there are a couple of areas you should know about. (I wish I had thought ahead myself before unleashing the BEAST!)…

They say your fertility declines dramatically after 35, but as you know all it takes is one strong sperm and one sound egg. I have 4 kids: My first 2 I had at 30 and 31 and my second 2 at 41 and 44. Yes, there were all very healthy and yes, all the diagnostic tests they make you take after 35 scared me into thinking they…

Wow! I'm 5'5 too and at my lowest I was 102 lbs. (of course i was 20 then) and wore a 3. I'm now 166 ( i'm 45 now) and wear a 12. When I lost weight before it was purely calorie restriction so I kinda looked unhealthy and skinny. With this program I've been working out 6 daisy a week and have been losing consistently and…

Congratulations on choosing to be good to you! Deep down you knew what you had to do to make a heAlthy start and you've done it! Good luck on your journey!

I would just go for it. Many people enter those fun races and plan to walk so if you have to run/walk it would be no big deal. I'm planning on doing a turkey day run myself for my first 5K. Good luck!

Wow! I can't believe those old 20s actually stayed up! Good for you!

Nice work nis75. I just did w2d2 this morning! How's it feeling for you?
-
Just completed W2D1 this morning. I felt strong until the last run when I was feeling it in my legs. Needed to slow for a bit then picked back up. With a bit of rest I think I'll be ready for day 2 on Monday!

I find that my PM days I may go up a pound to a pound and a half. I weigh myself daily as a self check and make sure I get enough water and stay away from salty foods. Usually I drop the weight and then some if I've been good the week following my period.

Completed W1D3 yesterday. Will most likely attempt W2D1 Saturday. I've been waking up at 5 in the morning for my C25K runs during the work week and its dark and will be getting darker. Weekend run means I can go a bit later! Will try an aerobic walk tomorrow to keep in shape.

Completed week one this morning. I'm feeling good that my legs only got real heavy in the last minute of the last run. I'm actually doing the run master 5k101 program so I think intervals are a little different just did 4 sets of 2 min runs. Next week is five 2 1/2 minute runs. Thinking I may be sucking some wind when I…

Very well done!

My 5k is in a very hilly neighborhood...my own. Right now since I'm barely on week one I'm keeping to a mostly flat area with only 2 hills. Later as I get stronger I'd like to brave some steeper segments to help me prepare. As I do hills I try to remind myself that they are very good for the old behind. I agree with you…

Hope today's run went well for you. I'll be doing W1D2 tomorrow morning. Im still a bit sore from D1 yesterday. My thighs and right below underarms are a Little bit achy. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

I just completed w1d1 this morning. I had started the program and stopped somewhere around week 6 or 7. I've been exerciing for a few weeks nOw and my stamina was better so I thought I'd give it a try again. I'm doing a 5k in November.. Will most likely do day 2 on Monday.

Congratulations on taking the first step to a healthier new you! As a mother of 4, the youngest if whom is 11 months I feel your pain. I find it ironic that when we're pregnant we're so proud of our growing tummies even posting monthly pics of our "progress" and after we have our babies we hide our deflated bellies like…

i'VE BEEN USING MINE FOR ALMOST A MONTH NOW AND ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I THINK I BORDER ON OBSESSION. I CHECK ON IT PERIODICALLY DURING THE DAY TO SEE IF I NEED TO BUMP UP MY ACTIVITY. IF I DON'T MAKE 10000 I FEEL REALLY BUMMED. I THINK ITS BEEN A BIG HELP TO ME TO KEEP MYSELF OFF MY BUTT!

I have 4 kids and the last three pregnancies I had gestational diabetes. The first was controlled by diet alone, the second I was put on insulin at 20 weeks and the last I was taking oral meds from 20 weeks. (The DRS changed their opinion about the dangers of oral meds. Anyway, all my children came out fine. I consider…

Yum! My hubby makes something similar with snapper or mahi mahi ( he fancies himself a fisherman) I think the only difference is he adds a splash of vinegar. So healthy!
-
I guess sugar is sugar. At least that is the rule I had to follow when had gestational diabetes. The numbers on MFP do seem low. I just refuse to feel guilty about downing a nectarine or a cup of milk!

Welcome! I think most of us have been there with the yo-yo cycle so don't beat yourself up. What I keep remind myself is that this is a lifelong healthy I'm trying to make, not a short-term until I lose the weight thing. Most people who successfully keep the weight off seem to maintain their healthy habits like exercise…

Don' t be too hard on yourself. Everyone had those episodes whether its drinking a few glasses of alcohol, an extra piece of cake or a double serving of a delicious meal. Remember it's a journey. Every day brings a new opportunity to make better choices. I know I didn't gain the weight overnight so I don't expect to lose…
