I have a Garmin Forerunner 410 which I love - It has GPS so tracks your exercise on a map - it shows heartrate and calories. It's pricey, but helps keep me motivated to do my runs...

I got myself a set of resistance tubes for use in the flat - they're more for building strength rather than burning calories, but they are nice and quiet and get my heart rate up for a while. They also don't take up much space and are enjoyable... I log them as Strength training (weight lifting, weight training) in MFP.…
