I have a 14 night cruise booked for July and am planning to do the stairs all the time (except when dressed up for formal night as I can't really walk well in posh shoes), and to use the gym. I am also considering skipping breakfast or lunch as a regular thing. We are on Fred Olsen so we will be able to make tea in our…

My husband is just around 10 stone, (he is a small person, he is right in the middle of the healthy weight range for his height and age), but he likes to be what he calls 10 stone with a 9 in front of it, ie 9.13, it just sounds a lot smaller although the difference isn't really significant. I am currently 11 stone with a…

I have developed a terrible ebay clothes habit, because I need new clothes and a standard size fits, and I just can't resist! It's awful how parcels of new clothes keep arriving and fitting me!

I understand that it is frustrating, but I know that I started several times and stopped before really getting down to it, and it was my hisband's support that helped me finally to stick with it. So maybe in the end it will stick with your friend and all your hard work will have been part of the progress towards that…

This morning doing an exercise CD with the children at nursery, the guy on the disc said touch your toes and I just did without difficulty. I haven't been able to do that for ages and I hadn't tried since beginning to lose weight. I was quite surprised.

Brilliant, isn't the first week's big loss a great motivator? Keep at it!

And if you go to a class, try and speak to the instructor before it begins and explain that you are new, and tell them about any injuries or limitations you have - then they will be aware of making sure that suitable options are given.

Keep taking those pictures, they really show how well you are doing

At my gym they are only in the weights area -and I watch myself all the time to see if I am doing it right. There are some free weights in another corner with no mirrors and I watch myself in a glass door when I work over there. But it is not to do with being vain or pleased with my appearance it is just about keeping…

So, I had to post to get my invite as well! 39 years married this year. We have both been sorting out our eating and have both lost almost two stone since last Autumn. It has been really good doing it together.

Yes they are the best ones, where people are surprised into saying something. Brill!

Well done! I can't do one yet!

Our gym had new machines, and they drafted everyone in to teach the members how to use them. I was being shown by a person who usually runs classes. I haven't done a class for about a year and have lost about 26lb, which is about half of what I think I need to lose, and that just gets me into the normal range for my height,…

Cheers everyone, it was certainly a morale boost. 30 lbs to go!
-
Thanks everyone, feeling OK about it all, not only getting rid of the clothes but also making space for new smaller ones! Definitely the way to go. Sue

well done-keep going! Let's hope the icky tummy will reinforce your new habits.

Brilliant - well done! I just made it into overweight a week or so ago and still can't believe it, I keep checking. Congratulations! :flowerforyou:

Thanks everyone for replying and crumbs well done all of us for all the pounds we have sent packing! I agree, I think lots of people don't like to mention it when they think you have lost weight, they only do so when they are genuinely surprised into it.
-
Thanks for replying, it did cheer me up!

I don't know anything about this but I have noticed that there are squillions of them on ebay - I suppose people buy them and then they just sit in the garage or wherever. So it might be worth looking at secondhand when you find out the best makes.

Brilliant. And even the tiger looks impressed!

My username is the user name the Open University generated for me when I started to work for them. It's my initials and I guess one other person had the same initials before me. Boring but everything else I could think of or use already was taken.
-
Brill, I got there a few days ago and can't stop checking the scales to make sure! But I didn't have so much to lose to get there, so you must be really happy, you have done so well. Congratulations.

Brilliant. My husband and I were just saying to each other that we would look at what we had lost in blocks of butter or lard next time we went to the supermarket, just by eyeballing the shelf, but this is better!

I like Attack, Combat and Pump in that order but I really like them all. Jam is fun but they stopped doing it at my gym and Balance is also a nice calming class. I and my two daughters do all of these, one daughter instructs them all, but our favourite is Attack. Combat comes a close second but is a bit more tricky in the…

I'm pretty sure they let it cool down first....

Ok I've never had a coffee enema...BUT once I was asked to 'cater' for a detox retreat at our holiday cottages and they intended to start the holiday for their group with coffee enemas, followed by a fast where they only drank herbal teas - not sure would what happened after that, but we didn't say yes. The thought of…

Well done, it is hard when you start but I am sure it will get easier

I'm almost 5ft 3in and until I had my second child and then an undiagnosed underactive thyroid I was always around 119. However, I have now set my goal to 133 and will see what happens when I get there, because I am much older than when I was that weight before and 133 is still well in the normal range. UK jeans sizes are…

It just gave me knee ache not head ache - I would check the water as well, not sure what else it might be?
