  • I have the same plan! LOL Trying my best to survive the holidays and then start Whole30 January 1st!
  • I try not to allow them unless it's really important. I will do a small treat here and there but I'm finding that I prefer the "paleo" treats to traditional treats lately anyway. I'm planning to splurge on my husband's birthday because we are going away and then also on Christmas (but not much then because we still eat…
  • Just a note regarding the magnesium....my Dr. (holistic) said to take 1000mg to help with that "situation". I increased the dosage and it worked. Doesn't work for me if I take less than that.
  • That happened to me too...I was already starting to weaken and then Sandy hit and any resolve I had went down the tubes. It took me three full weeks just to get through a day without binging on bad food. Keep persevering and it will come back. As long as you're still trying that's something! Also...keep reminding yourself…
  • Not pregnant but wishing you all the best! Hope you start to feel better soon!
  • ^^This. The post about TDEE is really good and will be very helpful in determining your numbers!
  • I personally don't find it as strong but I'm also used to it. I used the two mixed together a lot and so far haven't noticed their flavor coming through much.
  • I don't think it's a problem if you're upping them with higher vegetable intake. I've read that if you're doing paleo/primal to lose weight you should limit your intake of high sugar fruits such as bananas/cherries/grapes, so I would just be careful with increasing your carbs with fruit. IMO
  • Or their "healthy" fat free breakfast muffins. :noway:
  • I made this one last night and it was great! Nice moist texture. I'm actually surprised at at "bread" like it came out. It wasn't actually anymore banana flavored than a regular one surprisingly enough. My bananas might not have been ripe enough though.
  • I've heard in weight loss mode you should only have 4oz serving of nuts per day. I try to keep to that if I have nuts because I can over eat them very easily. Since you don't have much weight to lose I would guess you won't have a problem if you double or even triple that. But according to the little research I've done you…
  • Hi! I am brand spanking new to the whole Primal/Paleo lifestyle. Came across it accidentally when I decided to go gluten free for health reasons. I'm trying to be as strict as possible right now as I am learning to change my diet and watch out for the hidden dangers...but I do occasionally slip up. Happy to have found this…
  • I would suggest you use only Non-GMO soy product. I personally think less potential for side effects down the line. IMO
  • I'm the same way. I have the strength training part down okay because I do boot camp three days a week and challenges throughout the week but I have to force myself to do cardio. It's not that I hate it (maybe a little) but more that I put it last and usually run out of time to do it. I've been having a conversation with…
  • I use a TRX system at my gym and I love it. So much you can do on it and it challenges me every time I use it. I have back and knee injuries and I have been able to do every exercise in the classes. Highly recommended!

  • I actually beg my server to be able to order off the kids menu...those portions are actually correct for most adults (I tell them I don't mind paying extra but that I'm dieting and there isn't a lot else I can have and they usually give in ;-)). Also I ask for oil and vinegar instead to dress my salad because their salad…
  • I use organic PB now (whole grain toast or waffle with 1 Tbs PB and banana slices....yumminess!) but there is a brand called Better N' Butter which is a lot lower in calories and can be found at many grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Stop and Shop and Shop Rite all carry it in my area). It doesn't have a long list of crappy…
  • I do the same thing...I feel like I have tried almost every diet under the sun and my poor hubby has had to deal with the constant food and mood swings. Eventually I always fall off the wagon though because my body hated many of the diets I did. I agree with the other posters who said to eat what you want and just keep…
  • Hi there! It's been four years since my wedding but I still remember the struggle (lol, which I failed at so take my advice with a grain of salt as they say ;-)) to lose before the big day. I'd say if you're back on MFP that's a good first step to achieving your goals! You can do this! As to beauty tips the things that…
  • I know that feeling. I hate working out and I have to really push myself to do it. I have to talk myself through the struggle a lot of the times. Other thing is changing it up a little...I started taking classes for some things and I've tried to vary the videos I do. I 2nd whoever said to keep coming back to MFP....it's a…
  • That's great! Congrats!
  • Good luck! I wish you the best. You CAN do it!
  • I would love to do this as well! Please add me to the challenge! Great idea!
  • Hi Risseydmc, I'm new to MFP too but loving loving loving the app and website. Not sure exactly what you're doing obviously but with me having a little extra leafy greens in my diet helps a lot to kick things back in gear. Drinking more water seems to help me as well as it flushes out the water my body is holding on too.…
