Anyone who has ever lost weight has done so by consuming fewer calories than their body burns.

If you are pretty much happy with your weight but not your body composition, you can do a recomp. Here is an amazing thread with tons of info: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10177803/recomposition-maintaining-weight-while-losing-fat/p1

+1, this is what I do as well.

Don't listen to that poster. Everything they said about sugar, carbs and nutrition is wrong. Unless you have a medical reason to do so, there is no reason to worry about sugar. You don't gain weight in a calorie deficit.

A pound per week is excellent! How much did you think you would lose each week? You may need to adjust your expectations.

What is toxic in coke zero sugar? What diseases does it cause?

Here is an extremely helpful post: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1161603/so-you-want-a-nice-stomach/p1

If all you wanted was someone to agree with you, instead of providing factual information, you should have just said so.

What? How much muscle do you think she is going to put on while eating at a deficit with no progressive lifting program? Also, a pound of muscle burns, what, 6 more calories per pound per day than fat? I don't really think suggesting that she focus on muscle growth is going to help her current situation. Proper, accurate…

Two weeks isn't enough time to say something isn't working. You need to be more patient and trust the process. Also, to open your diary: My Home --> Settings --> Diary Settings --> Scroll down to Diary Sharing and select Public.

What toxins though? That's the problem with products that claim to 'detox' or 'cleanse'. None of them can ever tell you what, exactly, you are detoxing from or what toxins are currently coursing through our system at such seemingly-alarming levels.

They can stain your teeth, but they aren't bad for your teeth if you have good dental hygiene.

I have a friend who did just this! He was texting me from the bathroom soon after... :flushed:

I don't have this particular problem, but I'm wondering where you ladies get your bras fitted? You can't pay me enough to go into a Victoria's Secret, but I've never seen anywhere else offer the service. I'd pay quite a premium for a comfortable bra.

Wine :( Four ounces just looks like sadness.

My doc told me I am not even supposed to walk the 2 blocks to get coffee in the morning until week 4  But! Week 4 is next week so at that point I'm going to go slow on my treadmill and see how I feel. How long until you were fully recovered? At this point I'm still puffy/bloated and can't wear real pants...

Thanks, all. I'll continue to rest and I think I'll set up an appointment with a PT. Any input on protein intake? Is my 100g sufficient or should I shoot for more?

Sigh, I know this is probably what needs to happen. I just feel so lazy and bored sitting around all the time. There is now a butt divot in my couch cushion where I've been parked for the past few weeks. On the up side, I've caught up on all of my terrible tv shows...

Like the old Sit and Be Fit show! I like it
-
I did, but it's not really her area of expertise. She just told me not to lift anything more than 10lb and nixed the walking until week 4.

My surgery was a total hysterectomy and salpingectomy. It was laparoscopic, so my core muscles aren't as severely affected. I just have a lot of internal stitches that need to heal before I can do anything even a little strenuous.

I haven't seen anyone be condescending. Questioning the validity of the sources you cite and criticizing the authors of books you've read isn't the same as criticizing you as a person; it's giving you another viewpoint and correcting false or misleading information.

If your appetite is low, you should try eating more calorie-dense foods. Here are some helpful threads: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10326769/are-you-a-hard-gainer-please-read/p1 http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10142490/a-list-of-calorie-dense-foods/p1

So you are only drinking shakes and taking in ~600 calories? Why? You won't find support for that nonsense here, and it's against the community guidelines to promote VLCDs.
-
Sure. I always get my nutritional advice from dentists who have been dead for 70 years.
-
Nope. Can you explain why those things make soda 'less healthy' than water?
-
...are you really concerned about 20mg of sodium? They are basically the same. Milk has a higher sodium count than soda. What I'm trying to say is, stating soda is 'not as healthy as water because sodium' isn't really true.
-
Soda has the same amount of sodium as water, just an FYI.
