  • I am like you, I hate it as well.. It just doesn't appeal to me unless I'm really tired after a workout. So, what I've found works for me, is I time myself every day to see how fast I can drink 3 liters of water in one sitting.. It sounds like a steep goal, but it usually takes 5ish minutes. I may have to use the wash room…
  • You can, per se, eat whatever you want, yes. However, I think you'll come to realize, as I did, that these bad foods we were once so used to consuming are not nearly as satisfying as the healthier options that we can have much more of. Sure, Pizza/icecream/chocolate is wonderful, but when the smallest portion possibly eats…
  • I wouldn't worry about TDEE, BMI, BMR, etc. This is your first week. Any and all positive changes you are making to your diet or exercise regime will produce results, trust me! I wouldn't worry about that stuff until/unless what MFP isn't working! Goodluck!
  • You could be retaining water.
  • Oh my lord, I can relate. I once had to spray potato chips with windex so that I would stop eating them! It's crazy.
  • Sometimes I feel like people these days look for over complicated ways to explain the most simplest of things such as this.. Obesity is not a disease, it is a state in my opinion. You become obese via poor lifestyle decisions.

  • Oooooh, this sounds interesting! I would love to hear some other takes on it!

  • Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I have another question — I understand the benefits of weight training, i.e: building muscle to burn more calories, but if someone were to only do weight training, how would their weight loss patterns NORMALLY go? Would it be a steady, consecutively relative amount such as a pound per…

  • Wah, I wish things were easier. I just hate the idea of wasting my summer on something that doesn't produce ANY weight loss results, but I hate to have a defeatist attitude so I guess I'll continue. I'm getting a fitbit aswell, so that should help me staying motivated as far as cardio goes and such! Thanks for all the…
  • That's what I keep hearing. I'm wondering whether I should be eating my exercise calories back or not? What do you think? Because I don't use an HRM, I've been clocking Insanity as calisthenics as advised by members of the forum. Is that a problem?
  • No, I don't use an HRM — I've been putting insanity under calisthenics. Perhaps that's something I'll look into for a more accurate reading, thanks! I think my plan now is when I weigh in Sunday, if the scale doesn't move, I'll bump my calories up a few notches and see how I fair.
