Never use weighing scales (WII or normal) directly on carpet as the carpet absorbs the weight and everytime you stand on it, it will give you various inaccurate readings. As someone suggested, let extenders are great as it keeps the WII from touching the carpet or best to use a solid board underneath if you really have to…

I plan on doing the C25K program on alternate days (MWF) then walking for 5miles in between (TTH) and then a combined cardio/strength training on Sat then off exercising on Sunday. I probably will only do this til Week 3 as the C25K program would have move on a quicker pacing by then so will probably drop some miles on my…

Wonderful lost! You can definitely see the difference! How did you do it? Combined MFP food calorie counting and exercise? Great job. Grace

Hello I only started C25K last night, here are some info: 1. What Week/Day are you on? W1D1 2. How do you feel? Good. I think I will find this W1 light as I am used to long walks and slight running. But I aim to keep to the program! 3. Have you had to repeat a week or day? No 4. Did you add time or remove time from one of…

I was in your shoes last week as we had my hubby's annual office family bbq. Started off "calorie counting" which meant 2 sticks of chicken kebab, salad and coleslaw. But I didnt feel comfortable as I said it is a joyous occasion which involves us getting together as families. So I said, I will have a day off and eat what…

Weight yourself once a week only, same time every week if possible. This gives you a better idea of your weight journey. Also, make sure you have the right Calorie target - everyone is different. Your 1200 calories per day may not be enough for your body hence it is going into what we call "starvation" mode. When we…

Been mostly walking for 5 weeks now and started my first run last night, only 2 miles but its a start! I also did an 18 mile midnight walk for charity last Saturday. TOTAL MILES WALK/RUN - 45.6 miles from 01 - 09 August

Sauna is not a Calorie burner. You will burn more calories exercising that using the Sauna. However, Sauna can be a helpful tool for weight loss mostly in 2 ways: 1. Water Weight - Sitting in the sauna for 30 minutes will make you lose weight. But it is weight loss that comes from water loss. When you sit in a sauna, you…

I would say the first stop should be knowing where you are now then deciding on where you want to be, health wise. At 5"5' currently weighing 198 lbs, your BMI is 33.0 What the BMI numbers mean: Below 18.5 Underweight 18.5 - 24.9 Normal 25.0 - 29.9 Overweight 30.0 and Above Obese How to set your goal: 140lbs = 23.34 BMI…

I'm at 1200 too, I maintain at it when I am not exercising. But when I do my exercise, i eat between 1200 - 1500 cals.

I would say eat within your limit and exercise more. Grace

Me and hubby are in the same scenario, not that he isn't supportive, he just doesn't believe in "dieting", he calls it eating right and exercising. So I don't use the word "diet" anymore or else we will just be arguing. lol What I did was just to keep doing what I have started doing and when I needed to walk, I invite him…

Well done! You look great in both of your pics, but you look so much happier in your latest one. I aim to be in your shoes soon. 6lbs down, 44 more to go! :-) Grace

Hello John! Just like you, I am new to MFP. Just joined yesterday but I started my fitness plan with Scottish Slimmers 2 weeks ago and I am currently 6lbs down. A good start but I am hitting my week of cravings and temptation this week, I know its hard hence I was so over the moon when I accidentally found MFP when I was…
