Also, make sure you are not weighing yourself the day after your intense workout. Your weight fluctuates due to inflammation as part of the recovery process. I did my first 5k on January 6th (Biggest Loser Run/Walk) and my second one on January 13th. Besides saving a few calories, or brushing (and flossing)...what I have done is have peppermint or spearmint gum. If you chew that, anything else after would taste bizarre. :)
