When I decided to make a change to vegetarian, rather Pescatarian now, I had the opportunity to speak with a nutritionist. My health group offered it free of charge, I just had to make the appointments and show up. I discussed my reasons and what I was looking to gain and give up in order to make a choice I was happy with…

There's some great graphs out there for what serving sizes are. I got mine from a nutritionist when I decided to go vegetarian. Check w/ your health insurance group, they may offer free counseling w/ nutritionists like mine did. Get yourself a food scale and start measuring out what those portions are so you have a visual.…

We can support each other :)

I have it in my left leg; heat definitely makes me swell. I know what you mean about the weight fluctuation. I actually have more of a problem exercising because it's either too hard on my leg and I loose feeling and get stumbly. I've found that some yoga and stretching exercises works best for my Lymphedema - I just adapt…

You can also do black bean quesadillas, veggie burgers/sliders, spiced nuts

make sure you press it first; then marinate it

I'm 229 with a goal of 160 Feel free to add me. I'm happy to help support you in your goals :)

have you tried the overnight oatmeal? It's pretty filling. I like the oats with vanilla soy milk overnight then add fresh berries, flax seeds and either an apple and pb2 or assorted berries. it's just as filling as hot oatmeal but its different. It's great now that the weather's getting warmer.

I love the tropical green tea from Mighty Leaf. I buy it online but I'm sure you could probably find it in stores. They have a ton of different flavors - even chocolate mint tea. They also have a fantastic citrus chamomile. Stash also makes a very delicious lavendar tea that is very soothing.

I got the book from Calorie King and keep it in my purse. When you go somewhere, pull it out and make an appropriate choice. For me it's Chick-Fil-A ; a chargrilled sandwich no sauce and a side salad w/ Italian. I feel great about my choices and it fits in my caloric intake for the day. I'm only running at 1350 calories so…

maybe they went to Carl's Jr and got a grilled chicken sandwich, no sauce on wheat or a turkey burger w/ extra veggies. At least that's what I do and I don't see anything wrong with it. I'm not eating fries and a double double. The Carl's is in the same parking lot and sometimes I need something 'right then'.

I've had Primary Lymphedema since I was 18 years old (now 36) in my left leg. It's proposed some challenges for me & I think it's part of the reason I gained so much weight. I couldn't be physically active without a lot of grief. Summer time/heat makes it worse for me and since it's my leg it gets cumbersome and I get…

I use whatever veggies are left in my fridge the night before I go grocery shopping. I toss them all in a pot & cover with chicken broth, simmer until done. You can add an handful of quinoa or brown rice too. Also any left over meats/beans you may have. If you like it spicy add a little crushed red pepper. Last Friday was…

More veggies & more exercise. The hubby and I made a pact to commit to bringing our lunches and not eating out as much. In addition I have got to remotivate myself into working out more & walking the dogs on longer walks.

228 and super excited to be 218 and beyond

...move forward in losing another 10 pounds :) the smaller goals help me not get discouraged in the big number.

Try having something with a higher protein content as your snack before the time of day when you usually get the cravings. For me it's mid afternoon, so I make sure at lunch I have a good amount of protein. It seems to work. Sugar free jello cups work for me when I need something sweet Otherwise I stick with veggies - lots…

THAT is an amazing idea! I love it. Portable yumminess for work when I feel like being a smidge naughty. I just told a co-worker and their eyes lit up like crazy! Thank you so much.

made this w/ chicken boobs. Cut them into cubes, marinated for an hour & then dumped the whole thing into a skillet. Added garlic, ginger & green onion to the OP OMG it was amazing. Had it w/ steamed brocoli & red bells over brown rice. Loved it so much I have a pork loin mariniating in it now. Thanks!!

I used to drink 8 or 9 cups of coffee a day. Horrible right? Switch to tea. Try an earl gray and put a little cream/ milk into it - maybe even a littel splenda if that's how you took your coffee. You can steep it heavy if you prefer. Then branch out into some flavored ones. Stash makes an awesome Lavendar one. I also enjoy…

sugar free cherry jello or a spoonfull of extra crunchy peanut butter :) Depends on my mood.

Buy the mini candy bars & hand those out. When there's left overs, buy the sugar cookie dough in the fridge section, slice off a piece and wrap the individual snickers etc and bake like a cookie. Gooey candy centers like Milky Way & 3 Muskateers are my fav- then I give them to my co-workers for something different at the…

The scale is evil. Use measurements instead and judge by your clothing and how it fits. Don't get too wrapped up in the number or it will drive you nuts when you don't see it move. I've not lost much "weight" but I've lost inches and to me that's more important.

for those who tried this w/ PB2 - did it come out okay?

You can do it. We're here to support you. Welcome.

I agree with you - I'm at 1250 & it's working well for me. Weight loss is personal & individual. If it works for you & getting results by achieving them in a healthy way then rock on sister! Each to their own.

I have better results weighing once a week, Saturday morning after the bathroom, before breakfast and then putting the scale away until the following week. Your body's going to fluctuate and weighing every day makes me a stressed out nut case. Doing it once a week helps me see the path without the frustration. Just a…

On Sunday I make a batch of Bob's Red Mill 10 grain cereal or steel cut oatmeal. I pre-portion it out and add berries and nuts to each portion. It's grab and go since I leave for work at 6 and just reheat when I get there. In addition, I love the single serving low fat cheese sticks you can get (I get Sargento) and have…
