Stopped at two beers last night!

Honestly, if you're just starting out this should be fine, assuming you are significantly overweight. I easily lost 5+ pounds my first week of eating healthier and lighter, and did lose about 13 pounds in the first month. I was not 300 pounds to start with. I just went from a crap-filled diet with no exercise, to a healthy…

Pretzels, crackers, chips. I adore snacking! Now I just eat veggies and cheese and take a walk until the urge passes.

I'm 47 and have lost 50 pounds over the past 6 months. It's definitely a lifestyle change for me, and not 'all or nothing'. I know from years of experience that that type of approach results in failure. I've chosen a lifestyle I can live with that still allows me to see progress on the scale. I log everything I eat. I…

I love the eliptical and spinning. My old knees keep me from running anymore. I trained for a 10k last year and was pretty miserable by the end (but I did it!). Nothing gets me sweating like spinning. Love it!

Food is not the enemy. There are no bad foods.

Try Oikos triple zero yogurt. It has 10g of protein and no sugar for 8 net carbs. Lower carb bars like Atkins, Quest, or Pure Protein. I also like the Premier Protein shakes - they're very filling and only 5 carbs with 30g of protein. Good luck!

I love my Garmin! It motivates me to get more steps in. I don't use to monitor sleep.

I eat one whole fruit every day. My doctor recommends not having carbs until you have had some protein, so I usually have it as a mid-morning snack, after having a high protein breakfast. They are definitely healthy, but if you are concerned about carbs and sugars, you don't want to over do it. I have to watch my carbs,…

You look amazing! Good job :)

I wish this group were more active. I am starting phentermine tomorrow. I'm also starting metformin. I hope this combo works for me. I definitely obsess about food, so I'm hoping the phen helps with that. GL everyone!

I have an appointment with my doctor next week and am going to ask to be put on this. Hope to see good results soon.

I agree. I hate it. Do something that you enjoy. Try power walking instead. Or biking. I trained for a 10K last year, and hated every minute of it.

You look younger! Great job!

Now we can see how handsome you are!

Fresh pineapple and a high fiber cinnamon roll. Delish!

I had this yesterday and really enjoyed it. It wasn't that small, and kept me satisfied after work until dinner - my hungriest part of the day.
-
You look fantastic! Great job!

Amazing! Your eyes look bigger. lol

I'm getting this on my next order. Love the sweet/salty combo.

Liposuction is not for weight loss. It is to reshape the contours of your body. I had it on my hips and thighs about 20 years ago and am glad I did. I had huge saddlebags - fat accumulated on my outter thighs and hips, so I had square hips and huge thighs. Now my body doesn't store fat in those places. It doesn't mean I…

I am considering it. I went to an information session with the surgeon a few weeks ago and have an appointment with my GP this month. I have to follow a doctor supervised diet for 6 months before insurance will approve it. Do you have a waiting period? I barely qualify at my current weight so while I plan to follow the six…

I have to budget my alcohol. For example, I know I want some wine tonight (TGIF!) so I keep those calories in mind when planning the rest of my day. I've also recently cut back on the days per week that I drink to not more than 2/week.

I am not a doctor but I can tell you that I have been overweight and healthy most of my life. By overweight, I mean by about 30 pounds. However, I continued to gain weight and even though I was still exercising I began to have health problems - prediabetes, elevated blood pressure, asthma, joint pain... I am now overweight…

Fast day today. Good luck to us all!

Congratulations! Surprise NSVs are the best :)

Thanks everyone! I was surprisingly not that hungry on my fd!

Twice a week, but log it in once.

I just decided this weekend to give it up for a while, at least until I see some progress. I definitely feel better when I'm not drinking, but it is a real struggle to forgo that nightly glass of wine at the end of a stressful day. I need to find something healthy to replace it with.
