  • Tuna tacos. :) Heat 1tbs coconut or olive oil in skillet. Add diced onion (I do maybe 1/3 cup), 1 diced roma tomato, 1/2 diced pepper and spices (whatever you like for tacos). When the veggies really get going add can of drained tuna. Cook until desired consistency- I like letting everything get a bit singed like fajitas.…
  • I have been considering taking a week or two off from logging and just exercise when I feel like it and just eat when I'm hungry. I'm so back and forth- some days I don't feel like eating but force myself to the calorie goal, and others I feel like I'm starving and have to resist over eating. Thanks guys for the replies..…
  • It sounds scary, but taking a solid week off and going at maintenance can't hurt either, given I don't take it as a ticket to free eating everything. Should I eat at the TDEE for non exercise days...2300 since I'll still be running around at work, or at my sedentary TDEE around 2000?
  • I think I would just start crying if I were gaining (either weight or inches). Then I really would probably just throw my hands up and give up.
  • no support?
  • In a similar boat. Have about 1550 left and it's 8pm here. Been stressed and not eating. Was programmed to eat when stressed for so many years and got fat. Deprogrammed my self from taking comfort in food, now I'm at a loss at the end of the say at an unhealthy deficit. :(
  • Personally, I feel like people treat me differently. They seem like they're more likely to approach me, I don't get as many weird stares at the gym. It could also just be my change in confidence and my perception. Most days when it's not TOM, I don't feel all icky and like all the people see is my fat. I feel like there's…
  • I don't want kids (now anyways). I figure my selfish self can always decide otherwise, rather than having a kid I don't want right now just in case. If I get too old, I can adopt. Plenty of kids out there to go around. I've known I didn't really want kids since I was 12. Still don't want them, but I'm open to the…
  • :glasses: Remember you have to follow a meal like that with a two day fast, then juice for a month! Only way to survive the horror!
  • Made the best sandwich ever yesterday with laughing cow: Recipe yield three huge sandwiches (like whole meal) Mash the yield of one avocado with two light chipotle wedges (I used a potato masher and got it really mixed, I also recommend adding a tiny bit of lemon juice if you aren't going to use all at once). Spread on…
  • I use store bought whole wheat thin crust (It's pre-made which isn't always the best, but it's okay) and make a taco pizza- take the crust, put on a layer of bean mash of choice (vegetarian refried, mashed pinto, any variety really) and a layer of cheese if you'd like. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes, then top with…
  • Whenever I go in to my annual exam, they take out the height/weight chart and give me a lecture- because based on my height/weight, I come in at like 36% BMI, if they took the time to actually test me, I'm at 33% BF...the high end of the normal spectrum (right now). I wouldn't have to go through that "you're obese" lecture…
  • Way to go. The lifestyle isn't for everyone, and your motivations for going/staying on a plant-based diet are important. There are different levels of plant based eating that suite each individual a little better. I'm vegetarian, and have no desire to go vegan, but like the others here, I don't see myself going back any…
  • I'm coming back from two years of injuries, and with a new lease on life. I'm finally back to running, my next goal is to get back into body weight strength training, then the heavier stuff. I was never overly ambitious about working out really, but after so long not be able to walk, I'm determined to get stronger and…
  • I've never seen this website before, but it's something that after browsing for about 5 minutes, I'm forever grateful for your posting! Thanks for the site. I've been looking to add some variety and this will be super helpful. *done with serious posting* carry on.
  • I did wontons filled with cheesecake in a jar (a local organic dealer puts it out) with the same brand's raspberry jalapeno sauce. Super yummy.
  • Yellow squash slices sauteed with onion garlic and mushrooms, add slivered almonds and low fat blue cheese crumbles. Mmm Homemade sweet potato fries, bakes and dipped in honey mustard. Cauliflower mash with some parmesan, garlic, and a touch of butter. Try wonton wraps filled with some shredded cheese and steamed broccoli.…
  • Was in the store the other day, and in the produce section (I was there maybe 10-15 minutes) there's a couple with a kid, maybe 5 years old. Kid is hacking up a lung the whole time I'm there, not covering her mouth, turning red, can't breath and they just keep on their way, no one thinks to pat her on her back or get her…
  • Saw this while making my grocery list. Must try some of these recipes. Maybe I'll try steamed broccoli and cheese in one?
  • I want penguin PJs!
  • Get off work at 10pm, going to get gussied up, then go to a tavern to drink and snack with a big group of friends. Been saving up calories for a couple days for this. :)
  • For the record: I'm a Vegetarian. Just sayin'.
  • 30 days. 6 hours. :-p
  • ...and in just about every single thread I've visited. It's just his thing I suppose....it's the same thing every time. I mean this in the friendliest way abraham, you said you're looking for healthy debates, but to have a healthy debate, you can't go around picking fights, demeaning other peoples' dietary choices, or…
  • This guy is new to MFP and I'm seeing him all of a sudden all over the boards picking fights and pushing veganism like it's the *only* way with some floppy arguments and an obsession with documentaries. Sounds a bit self righteous in all of his posts...he's one of the folks who gives veggies a bad name with his attitude.…
  • I don't like when I know someone is watching me eat. Even healthy foods, I feel like they'll judge me because I'm still fat, and why am I eating! I work at the front desk of a hotel for long shifts, and since we can't leave I bring my lunch and snacks with me, and when a pretty, skinny girl walks in when I'm eating I lose…
  • I tsp of hershey's cocoa powder. I usually add Stevia to it tp sweeten it. Tastes like chocolate pudding. :D Depends on whether you consider that an artificial sweetener though. Also, is no one reading the OP? So many responses say "Honey" it's ridiculous.
  • I recently started eating fish again after a couple years veggie (not much, I remember maybe every two weeks to try to eat it, so I'm a failed pescetarian convert most of the time). I got a bit of an upset tummy the first two times, but nothing horrible. Just eat small amounts- single servings to start. *Also- The poster…
  • On whole wheat toast, with avocado, sprouts, tomato, and cucumber. Nom
