  • Are you going simply based on what MFP is telling you? In my honest opinion the calorie burn estimates are not very accurate on MFP because they use it as an average, but you really have to take into account your age, height and weight. This could lead to overestimating your calorie burn + overeating = no calorie deficit.…
  • First question are you eating calories that you gain from exercise? If you are you must be sure that you know exactly how many calories you are burning, I fell into that trap, the calorie counters on gym machines are not accurate UNLESS you type in your height, weight and age (and most don't let you do that.) I know this…
  • I have lived in Colorado since I was 11, in Colorado Springs, then Fort Collins for College and now Denver. I LOVE it here. Have you lost any inches even though you haven't lost any weight? I do know that since I've started I haven't lost any scale weight but I've definitely lost inches in places. I guess our goal is more…
  • I have a little advice based on personal experience. I too was eating 1200 calories a day since January while also working out 5 days a week with cardio and lifting weights. I refused to up my calorie intake a couple months ago (and I seriously regret that I didn't but oh well) because I was POSITIVE I would gain weight.…
  • Thanks everyone so much for the advice! It all is very helpful. :)
  • Just so its clear- one shot AKA 1.5 OZ of vodka is 96 calories, not 60, or this 50 number people are throwing around. Main thing just with everything else, make sure you know how many calories you are ACTUALLY consuming. Yes, tonic, diet soda, all that is great, but the vodka itself is still 100 calories. I don't know…
  • What are your stats? Height, age, daily calorie intake, activity level. I am curious because I am working down from 155 to 135 and am curious to see what your numbers are :)
  • I have to play devil's advocate here- everyones recommendation is always to eat more on MFP. But you REALLY need to make sure that you are counting calories correctly as that is a HUGE problem most people make in dieting. Good luck!
  • Most alcohols, per one shot (1.5 oz) is at least 100 cals. If you're going to drink, just make sure you know correct numbers because that's what will get you in the most trouble. I personally drink as a 'cheat' day, and so does my boyfriend who lost 30 lbs.
  • I definitely gained a little weight when I stopped smoking. The reason is because when you are used to smoking cigarettes it curbs your appetite a little because it is an oral fixation, meaning that it stimulates your mouth and technically keeps it busy. I guess the typical human reaction to not having that fixation is…
  • Agree with everyone else, the whole "don't eat after 7pm or you'll retain it all" thing is a myth. I did scope out your diary and your eating seems very back and forth, with irregular meals and calorie intake throughout the day. What I have found is that making sure I eat about 5 times a day helps keep you from that…
  • Thank you all so much! The roadmap really helped. Upping my calorie intake and can't wait to see the results finally come! :)
