Any sort of Indian food: - A cup of daal (lentil dish) - A cup of chole (chickpeas dish) - etc. etc. etc (there are tons of dishes!) Here's a website, you can modify the recipes to make them healthier/add what you like: http://www.indianfoodforever.com/north-indian-vegetarian-recipes.html

Indian daal. So yum <3 Edit: Daal = lentils.

We've only been dating for a year and a half, but.. The absolute best thing my boyfriend's ever done for me is that he saved my life. Literally (I was suicidal when we started dating). Aside from that, it's a long-distance relationship because we're both in college (he's doing a 2yr program, I a 4yr, going into our second…

Look up a healthy recipe for pizza and make your own! That's what I did the other day.. it took about an hour and a half, including 20mins of grocery shopping (I didn't have any cheese in the house!). There are recipes out there for pizza dough without yeast, if that's a concern. When you make your own food, you know…

Aww.. I kind of (sort of) felt the same way when I started this, but then I remembered: whatever I'm doing here, I'm doing it for ME, not for anyone else. So in the end, it doesn't matter how cranky MFPers are, because it shouldn't affect my progress or my life regardless of whether or not I use the site (if that makes…

Does it count if it's not diagnosed?

Aww. I think what you need right now is to focus on getting healthy mentally before you focus on your weight. I would recommend seeing a counselor not to figure out where the motivation went, but to get to the root of the stress factor in your life. Ignore the food problem for now - that's for after you stabilze your…

My dad thinks it's okay to tell people that I'm going on a hunger strike and exercising too much; neither of which I am doing. And he says it ALL THE TIME. It's getting on my nerves, and for the past week it's been leading me to eat more and exercise less just to make him happy. I'm so ready to move back to college.

This is terrible advice! This is what someone with an eating disorder would do. Punishing yourself isn't the answer. Use this opportunity to learn that eating over your calories makes you feel bad, and you don't want to feel bad --> remember this feeling next time you reach for cookies when you don't need them. That's how…

That's why I'm on here, too! Learning to eat healthy, because I realized I don't exactly know how :/

I have the same exact problem...

Thanks for the feedback! I just want to clarify: I don't weigh myself every day, let alone twice a day. I only did that once because I was curious as to whether or not there's a difference in my weight throughout the day, and if so, how much.

How is yogurt w/ fruit or a granola bar bad for you?
-
Just because you have to eat out most of the time doesn't mean you can't eat healthy... No one's forcing you to eat burgers and fries and greese and fat all the time. You should focus on learning to choose healthier foods when going out. Subway's a great choice, for example, but you have to know what to get (veggie delite,…

Clear = good and hydrated. Yellow = you're dehydrated and need to drink more water.
-
I haven't been able to figure that out yet.. haha it's part of what I'm working on, I guess.

Oh, hun. Rule #1 of weightloss: Don't go hungry. Find ways to eat as much as you need to while staying under your calorie goal, i.e., eating healthier foods that are just as filling as unhealthy ones.

Bump (I've got the same problem)

Make it home-cooked, with a healthy recipe (Google and YouTube are your tutorial friends). Problem solved :)
