  • I did Whole 30 a few years ago. I didn't enjoy it. Keeping track of all the restrictions was really stressful for me; the guilt was so bad I even had a couple of dreams about eating forbidden foods, which hadn't happened before, or since. As someone said upthread, it requires a lot of planning/label reading. You pretty…
  • Are you cooking it with water? That might be your first problem. Unless it's made with some kind of milk (dairy, soy, nut) oatmeal tastes awful to me. Then you can add dried or fresh fruit and (a small quantity of nuts. Good spices include cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, or cardamom. I eat this a couple of mornings a week. There…
  • Yuck Lamb chops
  • Google whole30 recipes. I believe that the diet plan eliminates most of the foods you are avoiding, except the nightshades and eggs, so you'll have to weed those out on your own. Nomnompaleo is a good place to start. There are also lots of recipes on pinterest.
  • Bananas Mayo Canned meat/fish (Tuna salad is pretty much my worst nightmare) Oily, fishy fish Pig's liver (Chicken and goose liver don't bother me) Gelatinous meat (feet, duck tongue, etc) Soy Milk Cooked zucchini by itself (raw is fine and zucchini bread/pancakes are good) Blueberry flavoring (fresh are fine but blueberry…
  • I got the Charge HR after my Ultra died and I'm not in love with it. I find that I don't really like wearing something on my wrist and I find that it counts a lot of arm movements as steps. It also counts steps while driving or on the train, but the Ultra did that too, so no change there. The heart rate counter seems to be…
  • yeah you can still update it
  • I sometimes partially pre-log and then forget to log the rest of the day. I just add the food the next day and it's fine. I believe as long as you get the food logs in by the end of the week they don't charge you.
  • I've regained some weight, but when I first actively trying to lose, I exercised every day for about 3-4 months and lost 10lbs during that time. When I started consistently tracking my food and eating about 1500-1700 cal a day (plus some "off" days) I lost about 17lbs in a month.
  • Crumbs...but I guess that's not a problem anymore. Sucks for the employees who were let go without notice, but those were some lousy cupcakes.
  • This wasn't a thing when I was in grade school. Are the bans usually just for peanuts or for all nuts?
  • I've made papaya smoothies for years and never seen this happen... Oh! I read the blog post - That only happens with dairy. You probably could have fixed it by adding a little more liquid and re-blending it. And why are you making your smoothies the night before? I can understand putting the stuff in the blender the night…
  • "Healthy" foods I would happily see wiped off the face of the Earth: -Bananas - the smell, the taste, the the texture all make me want to hurl -Peanut Butter in most forms- whole peanuts in the shell are ok, peanut mnms are good, and there's a thai peanut sauce I like and an African peanut soup that isn't bad. But it's a…
  • Not a dvd, but fitnessblender has a lot of videos available on youtube. They have warm ups, cool downs, and workouts for any body part you want to work, and I think the equipment you have would work for any of the workouts they have.
  • I don't remember the details, but there was a study I heard about a while back about running/exercising with music. I believe it said that amateur athletes did see increased performance when listening to music during exercise, but it didn't make a difference for elite athletes. I would start training without them... learn…
  • If you think that you can successful mediate things, try. If you don't think that you can be impartial or that they will listen to you, call in a disinterested third party (like a couples therapist) . If you feel that it's disrupting your life and they are unwilling to let you help/ get help for themselves and if you have…
  • Eat spoonfuls of this? Or make truffles like the recipe suggests. http://www.chow.com/recipes/12219-peanut-butterchocolate-ganache I've never made this before but I do know that if you double the cream in regular ganache it comes out like chocolate pudding, so it might work with this.
  • Something that I think was a sea squirt at a wedding in Korea. It had the taste and texture of a sock that had been sitting on the beach for about a week.
  • Pop tarts Oreos Any cereal that turns your milk funny colors Chocolate milk Hot dogs Chicago deep dish pizza American (processed) cheese General Tso's chicken Kraft mac and cheese Twinkies (actually pretty much anything made by hostess and little debbie) French toast Peanut butter Anything made with bananas Jello pudding…
  • I just made a puree with a turnip (one in surprisingly good shape considering it was leftover from easter in the back of the fridge) and some radishes from my csa. I peeled the vegetables and dumped them in boiling water till they were fork tender - I gave the turnips a 2 minute head start in the water because it seemed…
  • Replace some or all of the cream with milk. Heavy cream has 821 cal per cup. Light cream has about 700. Whole milk has about 150. Using half light cream and half whole milk will give you sauce that's still rich, without as many calories. If you want to go really low cal you can try the sauce from this white lasagna. (…
  • Unless you have a physician diagnosed deficiency, I wouldn't bother. Get your vitamins from real food.
  • I agree with the higher calorie estimates. Spend five minutes watching any food show where they take you behind the scenes and you''ll realize that they put use a lot more butter/oil (and salt for that matter) in dishes than you would use at home. Something that seems like it would be relatively low cal, usually winds up…
  • We eat a lot of pork at home and these are some of the favorites: Pork with apples, onions, and balsamic vinegar. Pork tenderloin stuffed with sauteed spinach, onions, and feta, roasted with mustard oregano glaze http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/10/slow-cooker-pork-and-green-chile-stew.html - This is good but I like it…
  • Did it last December, didn't see any difference in the way I felt while during or after when I started reintroducing foods. I just found it to be really stressful. Eating out was a no go. I lost weight mainly because I was eating fewer calories and was retaining less water since I was cooking everything myself and eating…
  • Steak + homemade roasted peppers + mashed avocado+cheese Brie + onion marmalade Grilled cheese + fruit (dried cranberries, pear slices, etc) Pastrami +swiss+ mustard
  • I'm so far from being a dancer it's not even funny, but I did attend a q&a with some Alvin ailey dancers after a performance. They said that they take from 4-6 hours of classes and rehersals with choreographers a day + a performance (or two) per day. It's literally a fully time job, so if you have time go for it. Eta- I…
  • Ugh I typed out long reply and safari froze. Basically I found an article where a guy who also uses the fitbit flex tested out some other M7 motion tracking apps (although not the fitbit one) and the accuracy was off by a couple thousand steps a day. Its also necessary to have to keep your phone on you at all times to get…
  • The cardio video is cardio  . The workout videos are circuit training.
  • Old navy is cheap, their clearance stuff is super cheap. They offer between 25-40 % pretty regularly if you sign up for their emails. They carry both regular and plus size (online only) stuff. They have free shipping and returns which almost makes up for the fact that their sizing can be really inconsistent, which means…
