  • OP - for most of my first marriage, I was 110 - 118 (5'4'') and size 0-2. Anytime I gained a few (5-10) my ex would tell me I was "swelling up," call me "wide-end," and generally make me feel like *kitten*. I am now married to a "real man" who loves me for who I am am, not for what I look like. I am on MFP because "I" want…
  • Peanut butter is good for you - but like anything else it needs to be tempered. If your entire diet consisted of peanut butter - that would be bad. I love a pb&j or an "Elvis" (PB & Banana) every couple of weeks. I even love a pb& bacon once in a while (oh yeah - it's good!) Reduced the amount that you have in a meal, and…
  • Death by cuteness is imminent. I will pray for you :-)
  • Breakfast is a big "bugaboo" for me. I am on summer break (a teacher) and sometimes I don't even get out of bed until after 9am. Then, I take my thyroid meds and am not supposed to eat for least an hour. Therefore, my breakfast often becomes a "brunch." All told - I eat when I am hungry and never stuff myself just to get…
  • I have noticed that MFP does not tell me I am "starving myself" as long as I "eat" 1200 calories irregardless of how much I exercise. So, I eat the calories, if I am hungry, or want some snacks. If I am not hungry, but my nutrition for the day is good - I don't bother.
  • You know - you are absolutely right!! I love the dress I am modeling - before I buy it, I will be trying it in a size 6!!!
  • Yay for you! It is tough when the scale doesn't move - so enjoy the progress!! I weight myself daily, but will only log if the weight stays for 3 days in a row. I haven't seen my current weight in 5 years (I am just 4.5 from my wedding day weight!!) Celebrate your progress :-)
  • I have created several smoothie recipes, so I can just add a recipe as needed.
  • I think it depends on the relationship one has with the people "commenting." For example, when I lost 5 itty bitty pounds, my husband (of 4 years) noticed (but he loves me to "infinity and beyond" to quote Buzz Lightyear) - and was like "WOW - what you are doing is working!" People who I have known and worked with (we are…
  • weight watchers chocolate covered raspberry pops are delicious. Vitalicious Sugar Free Chocolate Muffintops are to-die for. I have microwaved them with a teaspoon of Patron Cafe and some fresh sliced strawberry for a truly decadent dessert. You can also microwave one and add a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt and strawberry…
  • I am on Level 1 Day 7 - but I cannot seem to do it everyday. I get 3 days a week in, with other exercise on the off days. Is it more effective if you push to do it everyday?? I find myself loathing Jillian Michaels when I have to do the side lunges and calling her names that would make the 'toughest dude' blush. In fact, I…
  • I am with you! I actually hate to sweat, which happens when I exercise. I am trying very hard though to get over my disgust for exercising and sweating because I know that I need to do this to lose weight and be healthy.
  • I started MFP faithfully in February after my endocrinologist said I was prediabetic. He said I needed to be 140 by June, or I was looking at medication. I don't do meds - except for my thyroid medication (my thyroid was irradiated aka "killed off" 11 years ago). I am down 14.5 lbs since that visit. I log everything that I…
  • I always thought I was an extrovert - until I learn what that really means! While I am friendly and loving, and "put myself out there" might make me seem like an extrovert. However, I am an introvert (====================================================
  • I experiment with all kinds green smoothies - almost anything works, as long as you have a thickening base (banana, mango, yogurt, etc). My favorite at the moment is: 2 cups baby spinach 1 cup Kale 1/2 grapefruit (with as much pith as possible) 3 strawberries 1 small banana A few mint leaves 1 Tblsp of flaxseed 4 Oz Water…
  • You are looking great. Years ago, I could "wish the pounds away." Not so much these days, but I love your philosophy that even slow progress is progress. That is such a great outlook!!
  • I was divorced after 26 years of marriage. I 'got involved' with someone I was friends with - big mistake. After that relationship ended (lost a good friend :-( ) I joined eHarmony - yeah right?? No luck there. A friend "set me up" with a guy who turned out to be the love of my life! We went on 1 date, and it hasn't ended…
  • I don't put real, or artificial sugar in anything, yet my sugar allotment is regularly over. I worry, since I am "prediabetic," but most of my sugar comes from fruit. This area is a 'sticky wicket.' For now, I am just eating as well as I possibly can. When I have my blood work done in May, I will see what the results are…
  • Very timely question, as I was wondering lately if one can get too much fiber. I am usually way over what MFP says, but I eat a lot of high fiber/low calorie foods. The "side effects" are a source of humor for my husband (especially when they wake him in the middle of the night), but high fiber foods fill me up and I feel…
  • i teach elementary music. I wear a Jawbone UP band daily, and log between 4 and 6 miles everyday. Getting 10,000 steps is pretty easy, especially if I go out for a walk at lunchtime.
  • Awesome - congratulations on your efforts and success!! You are beautiful.
  • Keep up the good work! I can't wait to post that!!
  • Hi, I just turned 50 last Friday.
