  • Adkins and smart ones are good.
  • Hi and good luck! I was sleeved in July 2012 and have lost about 130 lbs. I realized everyone is different on what they feel is good for them on this life changing journey. This is what helped me and you can take what feeds you and toss the rest :) Right after surgery: I only ate about 1/2 cup of food if that for one meal.…
  • You're doing wonderful! I know from experience that sometimes we still see ourself as big and don't see the loss that others see, we don't see the transformation that others see. If you have a before picture maybe try looking at it and taking a current one to compare. I was the same way! My before and after pictures have…
  • Wow what amazing transformations!! Everyone is doing so GREAT!! It's encouraging to see how others are doing. Thanks for responding! I LOVE all the accomplishments!
  • Wow Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have done so awesome and you've kept it off! I'm just in awe at the amount of weight you have lost :)
  • Awesome accomplishment! It's so encouraging reading the stats! Hats off to a healthier you!
  • What a great loss! I agree 100% that it's only a tool to help but it's only life changing if we learn to eat differently and do things different. It's insane to lose weight and yet never change the way you eat obviously you will gain the eight back. You have done amazingly!
  • Have you tried sugar free jello? Sugar free Popsicle? I lived off of those for months after surgery. Hot tea may help also and G2 gatorade. Don't regret the surgery. It may be tough at first getting through certain stages but for this to be successful you will have to learn to eat differently. That's why many diets fail.…
  • I lived in California until I was in the 6th grade then I moved to Oklahoma, where I currently reside. We got snow today YAY!!! I had Vertical sleeve surgery in July 2012.
  • Hi there and good luck with your sleeve. You can do this! I had some similar issues mainly because I had surgery in Mexico so I didn't have a go to doctor so I honestly researched everything to learn what I should and shouldn't do and I incorporated with I felt worked for me. I wasn't a broth person either and I ate yogurt…
  • I try to have healthy snacks around for mindless snacking. I have a drawer full of snacks at work. I also drink hot tea and peppermint tic tacs help also.
  • I am 5'4 Sw: 244.7--Pant size 22-24, shirt size 2x-3x CW: 121.2--Pants 5/6 and sometimes 3 depends on brand, Shirt size small or medium GW: 118--but I'm honestly good with where I am right now. Just needing to lose some inches off my hips, butt and thighs.
  • I started out doing 30 and below carbs for several months then gradually added more carbs to 50-80. I go up and down from that now but I don't stray to far above. I try to do at least 20+ more in protein than what I do in carbs, if that helps you any. I found that cutting carbs does help in losing weight and there are so…
  • flatout bread (light) 16 carb, 9 fiber=7 net carbs, 9 protein, Josephs heart healthy pita bread 10 carbs, 5 fiber=5 net carbs, 7 protein and josephs flax oat bran and whole wheat lavish bread 7 carbs, 3 fiber=4 net carbs, 5 protein.
  • This is just me but I personally feel it could be what you eat. Have you thought of cutting back on carbs--like crackers and potato chips--maybe eating more cheese, lunch meats, tuna, chicken, joseph's flaxseed pita bread or wraps---- wonderful for hot sandwiches, tacos, tostada's, 2xprotein greek yogurt, Quest protein…
  • Something that I have learned and works for me is eating things with protein in it. It keeps me full longer. I normally eat every 2-3 hours or so also. I do think you need to eat something that satisfies but yet doesn't over fill you. Eating small meals/snacks like 6 a day has helped me. But I honestly feel it's what I eat…
  • It's tough at first 2-3 weeks because your body goes through detox. You may be tired a lot and even have headaches. I was a HUGE sugar intake person. We were tired a lot at first but fine now. Doing this really helps fight sugar cravings. Our sugar intake daily is 15 below usually for the day. There are a few times I'm up…
  • First of all men lost weight quicker and it stinks LOL My husband started June 3, 2013, High protein low carb (50-80 and he does go over) and has lost over 30 lbs. This is not a diet for us but a way of life. Now he will go higher in carbs after losing down to what he wants but I believe we will always watch our carbs and…
  • P.S. This is not a diet for me but the way I eat and have for the past year. I try to be high protein and watch my carbs keeping them 30-80, however I do go over at times. I try to have more protein then carbs but I do flucuate all the time so that my body doesn't get used to it and stall me. My husband has now jumped on…
  • It's natural at first for your body to crave carbs especially if thats what you've been intaking a lot of. Kind of like craving sugar because thats what we're used to eating. You will get tired easily for the first 2-3 weeks because your body is going through detox. I do high protein and watch my carbs. keeping carbs…
  • This is what has worked for me and I realize all of us are different on what works for them. I have only went over 30 grams of sugar daily very few times the past year. To be honest, I am mostly unde 10-15 daily. I have found that staying lower on this, I don't crave it. However I don't eat fruit daily but I do eat it. I…

  • It honestly depends on what choice you have made as in the type of food, calories, low carb/high protein you have decided to do to lose weight. I personally do low carb-high protein so the more meat I do is good--steak, shrimp, fish, chicken, salad, steamed or sauted veggies, if I eat potatoes it's not much.
  • I try to do 30-60 net carbs but I do flucuate and do more/less at times. I also try to do at least 20+ more protein than I do carbs daily, now again I flucuate a few times a weeks so this isn't what I strive for daily. My husband has been doing 30-80 carbs daily, 90+ protein and 1900 calories since June 3rd and has lost 22…
