  • I'm with you! Marilyn all the way!
  • When I went back to school full time, I took a workout class. It was just an open gym class, where I could show up whenever it worked for me, but I HAD to average 3 workouts a week. For a grade! I'm a bit nuts about my GPA, so an A+ was mandatory for me. That helped me get in the habit. Good luck! - Lisa
  • Those frozen meals are not the best option, thats for sure!!!! They are full of sodium and preservatives. They never helped me in my weight loss. Better to stick with "clean foods". Congrats on breaking the plateau!! What a great feeling!!! - Lisa
  • I'm 43. My son is 20 and my daughter 16. In 2007 I bought my largest size pants ever, was on multiple medications for high cholesterol, high blood pressure and depression, etc. and finally had enough! I was really focused for the first year or so, got down 60 pounds and felt great! I was even able to borrow clothes from my…
  • Also keep in mind that your body make take time to adjust to the new lifestyle. You will also gain muscle and lose fat, which may not reflect a weight loss, but your clothes will need to be smaller. Did you take starting measurements? I haven't lost weight in a while, but I've gone down a size or two in clothes... go…
  • yeah, definitely go to the bike store first! Talk to them and find out what they recommend and have them show you what your choices are for brakes, seats etc. While you are there ask them if they sell any used bikes. That might be an easier way to start out. I'd also recommend one of those little things that counts your…
  • Maybe you are going at it from the wrong frame of mind. Rather than thinking you need to "exercise", why don't you just try being more active. Instead of doing stationary things like watch TV - get out and do active things. Go for walks, or hiking, or water skiing or snow skiing...whatever you are into. But, be active. Do…
  • do you weigh yourself at the same time everyday? I try to weigh first thing in the morning. Your weight will fluxuate through the day and by what you eat and drink. - Lisa
  • bicycling!!! That helps tremendously! Also swimming. - Lisa
  • I'm with her - he sounds like a jerk!! I'm proud of you! You keep doing what you are supposed to and forget stupid people like that! - Lisa
  • There are TONS of exercise games for the Wii. Depends on what you like. If you like dance type workouts there is Just Dance and Zumba. If you want standard exercise stuff there is My Fitness Coach and Wii Active. if you are a biggest loser fan - they have a game too. Possibilities are endless. I rented several before I…

  • I tried running and couldn't due to a bad knee. I then started bicycling and my knee is WAY better now! So, just a tip, if the knee gives you trouble add some bicycling to the mix and it may help. Good luck! - Lisa
  • I have two (girl) friends doing it who swear by it. The both only need to lose a few pounds and firm up and they both used to be very active and work out at a gym regularly. They mention to me that it burns and is difficult, but they can see results. Because I don't have a history of working out regularly, and have more to…
  • I've had to learn to think of food as fuel. Carbs give us energy in the short term and protein gives us energy in the long term. Carbs are good before exercise or when you need a boost of energy, but then turn to sugar. (thats why too many simple carbs are bad for diabetics and high triglycerides etc.) Without the protein,…
  • I have never been a fish fan before. But, I've been buying the already encrusted Tilapa from the store in the frozen foods. Just place on a cookie sheet and bake. It's yummy! The have "Treasures of the Sea, Parmesan encrusted Tilapia" at our Wal Mart and there is a "Tortillia encrusted Tilapia" at our Costco. - Lisa
  • make sure you set it with your age, height and weight, etc. It will give you a general range based on that info. but, be sure to listen to your body too... - Lisa
  • my kids are 19 and 15 and I still have mine :-(. I was searching the store yesterday for something to help make them go away and I did see something by Mederma, but it was $40 for a very small tube. Made me wonder if it would actually work....... Just didn't want to risk that much money to find be disappointed if it…
  • Bright green pee is caused by: Excess of B vitamins, commonly from supplements with very high levels of B-group. It's harmless and should sort itself out. Drink plenty of water.
  • Isn't that a fabulous feeling!?!? I started my journey in a size 26, thoroughly disgusted with myself and now where a size 14 pant and my shirts are a size large. No more "extras" for me!!!! Congratulations! - Lisa

  • My doctors are trying to figure out my thyroid problem. So, I'm sorry to say I can't be any help as far as advice at the point. But, I can certainly understand your frustration and be willing to be supportive. Just aim at eating healthy and exercising and pray the doctors can figure out how to fix the thyroid issue.
