Great abs are built by nutrition - NOT the gym and a kazillion ab moves. In fact, if you have too much 'cushion' over your abs, building up the muscles underneath them will make your mid section thicker - not smaller. Best bet? Eat a balanced diet of protein, healthy carbs and healthy fats, focus on mass movers like…

Of course you do! Your body (plus your taste buds) can't physically differentiate real sugar from simple carbs and diet coke. All you get from it is an insulin spike, an even bigger sugar/carb tooth, and mad cravings. Do yourself a favor and wean yourself from this habit. Go to www.sweetpoison.com for further enlightenment…

Great question! As a fitness trainer and nutritionist, I can tell you that your BEST bets ain't gonna be found on the processed food aisle - or even 'health food section' of your local market ... My all-time fave choices would be a few strawberries dipped in a square of melted dark chocolate, inserting a popsicle stick and…

Whoever says bodybuilding has a negative connotation has probably never tried it! :) There's NO better way to sculpt the body you want, lose fat, gain some nice lean muscle, build your bones plus raise your metabolism than wailing on weights. And just so you know it's WAY harder to gain 1 lb. of muscle than it is to lose 1…

Great idea - esp. if you use hi fiber/hi protein tortillas :)

Avocados ROCK & they can be used in place of butter, mayo etc. in a host of great dishes ... I like mashing mine into chick peas for a healthy sandwich spread / filling - ditto mashing them into boiled eggs for a healthy 'egg salad' ... they are also delicious on their own and are considered to be a super-food! :)

I love this site but it is always off when it comes to peoples' protein needs - as in WAY TOO LOW! Shoot for 1 gm per lb. of desired body weight and try to get 25-30 gms with each meal/snack ... Anything over about 30 gms is wasted and could be stored as fat since the body can't metabolize it in one sitting/meal ... :)

Yes. Your body needs rest to repair itself and grow stronger, period.

Impossible. And worse, you got about 1/2 day's worth of salt there!

I'm a big fan of Designer Whey - tastes good, doesn't break the bank, easily dissolves and is quite clean in terms of its ingredients.

On one hand, major props! You lost A LOT of weight and in most ways are probably much healthier. But I also concur with those who feel it was too much too fast. Granted, depending on your original weight and HOW you lost those pounds, there's a chance this was a somewhat reasonable goal and long-term accomplishment. But…

Since all calories are NOT created equal it's MORE important to ask yourself: "What do I need to eat to fuel my day/workout?" And then as the day goes on ask: "What am I lacking in terms of nutrients?" i.e. If you had oatmeal with fruit for breakfast and a glass of skim milk, then for meal #2 you need to amp up your…

You GO, girl! Isn't that the BEST feeling?

Try one leg dead lifts with light dumbbells and strengthen your lower back even more with back extensions ... Planks would also be good since they strengthen your core! :) Sally http://www.yourtrainer.com/strength-conditioning-coaches/georgia/atlanta/s-hughes-30346 http://www.facebook.com/PlanetSharkFitness…
