Former Starbucks barista here. I'm curious, does your store hand off the drinks on top of the espresso machine, or did you put it there? It makes me nervous to think of a drink being spilled all over one. OP might be talking about scoops of protein powder, the same stuff that goes in the smoothies. My healthy Starbucks…

I am aware of the need for fat in a balanced diet. OP eats eggs, and surely other foods that contain saturated fats. I was simply saying that the fat free milk is an easy way to keep from going overboard. I'll be more clear next time.

Dietary guidelines recommend 3 servings of dairy a day, so having milk every day is just fine. Also, the fat free milk helps you avoid saturated fat, which is a plus.

I haven't tried this pumpkin bread recipe yet, but I've had it saved since last year. http://cookieandkate.com/2011/whole-wheat-pumpkin-bread/ I've also been meaning to try this pumpkin quinoa recipe http://www.healthfulpursuit.com/2011/02/pumpkin-pie-quinoa-bake/ Of course, there's always the option of simply adding…

A spoonful of chocolate frosting from the bowl in the fridge. I can't say I did the same for the past few days before this. Chocolate frosting mixed with peanut butter is a delicious dip for apples, btw.

The nutrition info on the website is messed up. When you select grande, it shows a serving as 24 oz and shows 16 oz for a venti. It's the line right above the calories. It doesn't match up with what you choose from the drop down menu. My boyfriend is a shift supervisor there, and says a venti definitely has more milk. I…

Pie crust. I think my trouble is that I always over mix it, but I have so much trouble getting the consistency right, not to mention the rolling out part. I've tried crumbling the butter with my fingers and I've tried the food processor method. Any tips? I promised my boyfriend an apple pie years ago, but I'm too scared…

It can vary so widely by recipe that it's really hard to tell. I can make a 120 calorie blackened redfish, but find another recipe that uses 3/4 lb of butter for 6 fillets. I'd just pick whatever looks the tastiest and have some delicious leftovers tomorrow.

Another good variation is tossing some onion chunks in with them and tossing it all with olive oil, a teeny bit of salt, and ground rosemary. I'm not the biggest fan of onions, but they turn sweet and delicious in the oven and it's magical. Also, the sprouts I had on hand at the time were frozen, so I dumped them in the…

Frozen fish sticks. My parents told me they'd make me smart, so I ate a ton. I ended up smart and fat. Sweet potato casserole at Thanksgiving. You know, canned yams in syrup covered with butter, brown sugar, and marshmallows. I wasn't a fan of white rice as a kid, but my mom always said it was good for me and I had to eat…

Theo is my favorite brand right now, though I haven't tried many. Divine makes some flavored ones, if you like that. I've seen them at World Market. I like to buy the recommended brands on this list http://www.foodispower.org/chocolate-list/

I have been adding dried blueberries close to the end of cooking so they soften and then some cream cheese right before I eat it. Otherwise, I just add some raisins and a lot of cinnamon. Pumpkin puree with brown sugar and pie spices is also yummy.

I looked at a week or so of your diary, so I don't know how typical this is of your diet, but I saw low fat stuff everywhere. You could try adding more olive oil, nuts, avocado...stuff like that.

I am able to use my computer without any problems on mine, but I can't write legibly while walking. That's mostly due to my poor writing habits where I have to be slumped over the paper to produce anything that looks decent. I have spent hours on it playing games and watching lectures. Remember to make sure your keyboard…

My 5th grade crush told me I was a genie in a bucket because I was too fat to fit in a bottle. In 7th grade, my super skinny friend noticed the bright red stretch marks on the back of my legs for the first time. She then screamed to the rest of the class walking behind us to look at the "cat scratches" covering my legs.

I have an 11 cup Cuisinart processor. I got it for Christmas in 2011, and I use it a few times a week. I was worried it'd be one of those appliances that are fun for the first month or so and then get lost in a cabinet after that. Not so. I especially love using it for onions. I think the 11 cup capacity is perfect for my…

When it happens to me, I take a couple Benadryl and just wait it out, preferably in the shower. My throat tightens until I wheeze, my face swells, and my nose starts running like crazy, which is why the shower comes in handy. I haven't been to see the allergist yet, but as far as I can tell, I have some trigger foods that…
