  • There is no way of going back, so if you are beating yourself up mentally, then try to find a way to stop that. Mentally berating yourself is the worst side-effect of binge-eating. If you look at it as simply an event that occurred, and don't dwell on it, you will not be as likely to binge again. Me? I binge-ate because I…
  • I've been following IIFYM for over a week now and as someone who used to be able to BLOW THROUGH her 1,740 calories a day, I am STRUGGLING to meet my macros. It's insane how, when I eat the appropriate amount of c/p/f, my body doesn't want anything else. I have no sugar cravings anymore, have no desire to binge eat. In…

  • See a nutritionist. Especially if you're stressing over it...go see a professional. Literally, it is their JOB to help you eat well. I did it 1.5 years ago and it freed up so much of my mental sanity!! And...I lost some lbs and gained strength.
  • I say eat more. Replenish with food immediately after a workout, with food. Specifically carbs. Good job on the weight loss, but if you want to keep this as a lifestyle, you have to eat a bit more. Just try 100-200 calories for a couple weeks. You'll likely notice more energy. Good luck no matter whose advice you go with!
  • I just bought her new macro guide and cannot wait to start tracking using her guidelines!
  • I'm with the "just fit it in" folks. But might I add, choose a PB that is worth it. For example, an all-natural one with NO added sugar or palm oil. Seriously, try Crazy Richard's brand. I ate an entire jar in a weekend it is SO good and nothing but nuts. Also, there's a brand that makes a spicy PB. I have a tsp of that…
  • I am a ovo-lacto-vegatarian (meaning: i eat eggs and dairy - animal by-products - but not actual meat) 5 days a week. Coupled with going gluten free after recognizing my intolerance to that about 1.5 years ago, I can say I've never felt better. I say, eliminate meat for a while and see how you feel. Want to go back to…
  • Fair enough. My apologies.
  • (I'm just doing damage control here, lady. I really didn't mean to piss off the very people that I follow for encouragement and advice.) And I can't thank people for their responses? Isn't that the polite thing to do?
  • Thanks for the honest response (and for not jumping down my throat for asking a question).
  • Thank you for your honest answer.
  • And I GREATLY appreciate that answer. I was not judging, I was honestly just curious as to the decision-making process that goes into this. Many of these responses have really opened my eyes to the decisions parents make, and how they do it, and now I am better informed. I appreciate those responses. (And I think I would…
  • In response to number 4: I wasn't judging you. I was asking a serious question and was looking for answers like 1-3 that gave me real insight into the decision-making process. Thank you for those, as they really opened my eyes.
  • It was an honest question, not a judgemental one. From someone who is interested in becoming a parent, I'm just doing a little research.
  • That's a good idea, to give her a treat that she gets to pick out, but on a limited basis. I appreciate your honest response. Thanks for educating me.
  • I didn't think of it that way...because I, too, "treat myself" when I go out by ordering something I otherwise wouldn't make/eat at home. I appreciate your honest response. Thanks for educating me.
  • Thank you for your honest response. (And for not jumping down my throat at asking.)
  • Thank you for that response. I appreciate your helping me understand the difficulties of healthy-minded parents feeding picky-eating children.
  • That is really interesting. Thank you.
  • I think my question came off a bit more harsh/judgmental than I meant. My apologies for any misunderstanding. I don't think children should be deprived of yummy, fun foods...nor should anyone for that matter. Can we stop the attacks now?
  • Correct. No kids, but am an aunt (sister does a fine job. This is not directed at her.)

  • You will always be a work in progress. Those of us with eating disorders are never fully recovered. So don't let one bad day get you down, but keep working towards a goal. Speaking of that, set realistic goals so you can be proud of yourself when you meet them. We are proud of you, and support you!
  • Don't keep snack-y foods in your home. That's my trick. And it shouldn't be a problem to do that, even if you have other people in the home that you buy food for. Think of their health as well.
  • 2 avocados, one diced and roasted eggplant (sprinkle with salt and pepper, bake in the oven at 400 for 45 minutes, stir halfway through, and cool), juice of 1 lime, salt and pepper to taste. YUM!
  • Don't use artificial replacements. Eat real food. Just eat less of those high-calorie/cream items. Replace whole milk for the half-and-half. Otherwise, don't change a thing, just eat a wicked small portion of that food item and pair it with some awesome baked chicken and a big salad, or fruit (something filling).
  • You probably shouldn't emasculate the man OR turn him into a demanding husband. He came here for support. How about something alone the lines of, "Be a strong supporter of her goals, but be firm and look out for the health of your son." Just a though.
  • Your poor wife (and I mean that with all due respect, because I totally empathize with her!) is projecting her fears of weight gain and her low body-esteem onto your children. You and your children cannot help her, only she can help herself. But you CAN help yourself and your children. Get him fed. Healthy, but full of…
  • Every day. Nogii bar and iced coffee w/ cream for breakfast (post-workout). Green smoothie for my mid-AM snack Greek 2% yogurt and fresh fruit for lunch Nuts or airpopped popcorn for afternoon snack. Dinner is always different because it's the meal I share with my husband, and I won't make him submit to to my ridiculous…
  • Homemade green smoothie (spinach, kale, frozen berries and pineapple, a splash of almond milk), and a couple hours after that I had my protein bar. Today was a Jay bar, but ugh...I'll go back to my Nogii bars. Much better!
