I did talk with a fitness director and she said sometimes you get in shape and don't lose weight. Then, she added be happy to get in shape. Hmmmm, I thought. I guess I have to take her advice. I can't change what I can't change! Thanks for chatting. It does help. Linda

Thanks for your answer, Heather. I guess I will try to do something different for one of the replaced meals and not use the protein powder. I just don't want to fall into a trap of consuming too many calories and not knowing. The protein shakes were a good way to know exactly what I was getting. As far as exercise, I do at…

I'll try! Thanks for the advive and taking the time to try to help me by looking at my food diary. It means a lot!

it's goood you are trying again. we are human and entitled to a break. don'y worry about the past. begin today. you are already one pound better off than I am. I decided a month ago to lose 20 lbs. I adjusted my eating, began exercising at YMCA and at home and made other healthy changes. I haven't lost a pound, at least…

Thanks all for the replies...I have tried to replace my burned caories, but then I just gain weight. I eat very healthy foods with an occasional sort of healthy dessert. For instance, I might bake a homemade bread pudding. I use whole wheat french bread, half the sugar, and walnuts and brown sugar for the topping. I also…

Ian: Thanks for looking at my log and commenting. I have cut my sodium way back. I used to love salt, now not so much. I use it sparingly. My protein intake is high due to the whey protein shakes. I usually replace two meals with them or at least one per day. Today I will have one as I had a low cal egg sand for breakfast…

Kim...thanks for the welcome. You are welcome to see my food log. I think I made it public. I do exercise tV on demand as well I love the 3 mile walk with Leslie Sansone. i do that about 4 times per week. It is not too heavy and still burns cals! I have Time Warner but i think the free exercise programs are the same. Check…

One thing I like about my body this week is that I have more endurance on the things I try. One thing I hate about dieting is I don't seem to lose weight no matter how many cals and sugar products I refrain from. I posted a couple of posts ago about my story. If anyone has advice, I need it. Thanks!

Hello! I am 47 with 4 kids: 22, 19, 16 and 5. We recently joined the local YMCA and I go at least 4 times a week. I do 25-30 mins on treadmill, walking from 4.3 to 5.7 (jog) at peak. I follow the warmup and cooldown features and sometimes use an incline of 1.0. When done that, I do the core machines (about 10 of them) for…

Thanks, Pheonix! Great advice and I will tweak my diet a little at a time to see what works. I am exercising about 4-5 times a week. I know I need to drink more water and I am trying to count calories accurately. I have so much to learn on this journey!

Thanks, SHBoss, for the advice and everyone else. I am going to adjust, although it does feel counterintuitive as you say. I am not as hungry as 1700 vals per day and I sort of enjoy the exercize. I do need to add more water to my daily intake. I just don't really love to drink it. I never have been a big drinker of any…

Thanks to all who posted. I will rethink my daily food and exercise.

I made my food diary and exercise public. Maybe that will help. Thanks.

I do try and eat my exercize calories, but that didn't work either so I gave up on that. I will try to let you see my food diary input if I can find the link. Thanks to all who are trying to help!

I think I do. I eat cheese and use light cream soemtimes and peanuts and peanut butter. I use olive oli for cooking and promise marg or unsalted butter. I don't use each of these products everyday, but some each day, whether it's on wheat bread or with a tablespoon of peanut butter or once a day I put cream in my decaf…

I'd like support because I can't seem to lose a pound. I am now exercizing 5 to 6 days a week. where before I didnt exercize at all. I have replaced two meals a day with protein whey powder. I eat or drink (whey) five times a day and it is almost always healthy. for a regular meal, I will have skinless chicken breast,…

Hi. I am new to this site and only have limited information about calories and what's good an what is not, but I can tell you that the best thing I just did for myself was join the lofal YMCA. It is very reasonably priced. Where I live it costs us for a family of 6 (unlimited use of facility) $53.00 per month. For a sigle…
