Dude no offense, my sister benches more and she never works out. She had to when she played golf in college but she's not a gym junkie. You would be so well served to bulk at 0.5-1lb/week and get on a linear progression program. Trust us man, we would not steer you wrong. I recently started working out again after a 6…
-
And that is the real deal for me as well yet I am pushing through and you are not. I've dealt with my issues for 6 years now, how long for you? I guarantee it I've had it worse than you. I was in the ER twice last October with paddles hooked up to my chest and a heart rate of 29 bpm due to my stomach and me being unable to…

You honestly don't understand more than them if you cannot comprehend that what you plan on doing is classic wheel-spinning and will get you nowhere. How much does everyone in your family weigh? I'd be surprised if they were all light like you. You definitely do have problems with food or else you wouldn't be saying the…

Dude, I deal with all the bloating, flatulence, constipation, and bathroom issues in the world, it all comes down to manning up and eating, which you clearly do not want to do. I recommend you see a therapist who specializes in eating disorders as you clearly have one. You fear food, fear fat gain, try to maintain an…

This is the definition of wheel-spinning. One pound per month? You do know that your scale weight can fluctuate up to 3-5lbs daily due to water retention, food you recently ate, and if you are backed up or not? Granted, I do know much about you but it seems to me like you have disordered eating. What stomach issues do you…

This is how I should have worded my response. Of course I want her to do well, but if she graduates and prescribes stuff like this to others then it's a recipe for disaster.
-
Uh, no, because if she is passing and thinks the diet she's eating now is good then that's so stupid. Even worse, if she graduates and still has this mindset then she will prescribe the same diet to others and will cause them to experience multiple health issues.
-
OP I hope you're failing your nutrition classes as it appears you are woefully informed of what a rational diet is. If you were getting the results you wanted you would not have posted here, so don't ask for advice and then disregard everything people say.
-
You posted in the gaining weight section of the forum so the majority of people here are trying to gain weight. It all comes down to eating a surplus of calories and lifting heavy weights so you can build more muscle than fat. What exactly are you looking for?
-
No, don't increase by 50-100/week, it's a waste of time and inefficient. Just jump straight into a surplus. It's better to do a surplus of 250-350 for women as you do not build muscle as quickly as men. So try 2,200-2,300 and monitor your weight change.
-
You're 18 years old and still growing, 2,000 calories is definitely not enough for you to gain weight, let alone maintain. You will not recover on 1,800, I can guarantee it. Carcarxx94 has it right, you need more calories just to repair all the damage you've done to your organs. I would do 2,500 minimum. Heck, when I was…

Another person who takes linzess, that's good to hear (well, unfortunate that you have to take it but good to see it helps you). Unfortunately I don't like coffee or else I'd drink it as I know it helps move things along. My Dad has been very helpful in listening to me and offering advice. I just don't want to see another…

What kind of food test was it? I got a blood allergy test but I didn't know any better before then. Food intolerance tests are wrong 50-60% of the time, the best way to determine your tolerance to a food is to remove it for a couple weeks then reintroduce it back into your diet and see how it goes. The problem with them is…

I've had it and love it! CCCD used to be my #1 but now S'mores is tied for #1, possibly better. I just wish I bought more boxes of it during the Cyber Monday sale, I only stocked up on CCCD.

I was originally aiming for the Charge HR but the jawbone Up3 is waterproof and is much slimmer. I'll probably go with the Up3 when it is released.
-
You said you've put loads of effort into researching but it looks like you have done nothing. Your fat is extremely low and your total calories are inadequate for your goal of building muscle. Use this site to calculate your macros based on your activity level: www.iifym.com

Good to hear about the other greek yogurts, I'll see if there are any more in the stores near me. I'm not much of a fan of lemon so I'll avoid that one. The sea salt caramel is my favorite as well, even beats out most premium ice creams.
-
I just tried a good amount last night and holy crap, this stuff is legit! I normally discount non-premium brands but TH hit the nail on the head with the Sea Salt Caramel Froyo. Definitely going to be a staple in my freezer.
-
Good to hear! I tried a spoonful and it tasted really good, I'm excited to have a solid bowl of it. Hah good stuff, ice cream every night is always a good bet.
-
I rescooped Talenti's Sea Salt Caramel tonight and man, it has been way too long. This stuff is like crack! Rich caramel base, and the truffles put it over the top. I don't know why it has been so long since I've had this last, but it is definitely becoming a more common event that's for sure.
-
Sounds good! Yep, people are different so do what you enjoy. I've never tried that Haagen Dazs flavor but Talenti Sea Salt Caramel is delicious, great base.
-
I'm digging into Turkey Hill's PB Banana ice cream tonight, I may post pics, it's ridiculously good! I highly recommend it if you haven't had it before. Yea I like having some cereal most nights so ice cream doesn't always fit. Sorry to hear ice cream didn't fit tonight. Pro-tip: put your bowl in the freezer so the ice…
-
I couldn't have just one, would seem like a tease, but whatever works for you. What's your favorite flavor?
-
Anyone here try Turkey Hill's Limited Edition Greek Frozen Yogurt Sea Salt Caramel Truffle? I've seen it in a couple stores and it looks promising but I already have a bunch of ice cream in my freezer. If it's really good then I may pick it up. https://www.turkeyhill.com/products/frozen-yogurt-flavors.aspx?pID=524 Also,…

I don't feel hungry either and it sucks, especially during a flareup. The past two months it has just been me looking at the time and then checking MFP for what I still have to eat. I've been having to eat 1,200-1,300 cals at night, half junk food, just to get calories in as well. What did your gastric emptying test reveal…

@concordancia: it is and should be more than enough, I just get frustrated that I have to take a couple steps back fitness and physique wise in order to start moving forward again. @biorobotics: thanks for that, makes me feel a little more at ease if not all of it will be fat gain. I couldn't imagine not even being able to…

Ah ok, just making sure you were not consuming gluten without knowing. I'll try one of those juices, thanks for the suggestion. I tried coffee and I just don't like it unfortunately. My gastroenterologist has me taking milk of magnesia daily (4 servings) and it has been a godsend to get me to have a bowel movement…
-
@cwolfman: Yea my doc probably wants some fat on me as well, it's just messing with my mind eating more and gaining and not working out. @fatfreefrolicking: Yes, unfortunately that is true. I know more or less what agrees with me, it's just the fact that I'm injured and underweight that they don't want me working out.…
-
@Alice: I haven't done lower body exercises since June, I am more concerned with the upper body since it's not as serious. I see a doc on December 10th to see how the fracture has healed. I haven't worked out intensely since June as the elbow issues started then as well, so I'm going a little crazy from not working out.…

I've been to multiple docs (one is a top doc in the field of gastroenterology) and physical therapists and it's basically because I don't sleep and eat enough, so I don't recover between workouts and the damage caused by the weights never fully heals before the next workout. I can't sleep when my body is at a low weight…
