Bulking and stomach issues
I've had stomach issues for around six years now and had all the tests done and the diagnosis is chronic constipation. I'm good 95% of the time and eat whatever, but the small 5% I flare up and have stomach pains and am unable to eat and lose weight. When you guys have an upset stomach do you still try to hit your calorie…

Quest bars and stomach issues
Is anyone here who has IBS/Crohns/UC/SIBO/gastroparesis (or just general digestion problems) able to eat quest bars with no issues? I have had gastroparesis and possibly SIBO/IBS for 4yrs and have been eating quest bars for 1.5yrs with no problems. A naturopath I recently started working with said that the erythritol and…

"Clean" vs "junk" food while bulking
Do you guys eat "clean" for your bulks or do you incorporate junk food treats daily? I don't want to start a clean vs dirty food, and I'm well aware of IIFYM and the ability to fit whatever food you want into your diet. I'm just wondering how you guys do it. Personally, I'm bulking at about a pound a week and have had to…

Amiigo fitness tracker
Has anyone received their Amiigo fitness tracker or have you preordered one? I just found out about this two days ago and am very interested in it. I workout 3x/week, play golf 1-2x/week, and am down at the shore a lot so I'm pretty active. I'm thinking about preordering it but want to see if anyone has gotten theirs yet…

Need to gain weight and can't workout
I have digestive issues that have caused me to drop a bunch of weight in the past and left me susceptible to injuries due to not being able to eat enough at times and under recovering from workouts. So my doc wants me to gain 10lbs while not working out as I'm currently injured and even if I wasn't he doesn't want me…

Eating the majority of your calories at night
Does anyone eat a lot of their cals at night? I find that I prefer going to bed feeling completely full/stuffed and don't have problems with hunger during the day if I don't eat a whole lot. I'm bulking and still getting in the cals I need, just wondering if anyone else does this on purpose (IF) or if it fits with their…

MFP total calories vs macros
I have recently noticed that the total calories at the end of the day don't add up to the same amount that the total of my macros do. For example, on Sunday I had 2,161 calories but my macros were 206g of protein, 291g carbs, 49g fat; which adds up to 2,429 cals. That's a discrepancy of 268 cals which is pretty…

IHOP Buttermilk Pancakes
I'm going to IHOP tomorrow for breakfast and I checked the nutritional info here: http://www.ihop.com/-/media/ihop/PDFs/nutritionalinformation.ashx and it says that 3 buttermilk pancakes are 470 calories. However, I'm not sure if this calorie amount includes the butter or not that comes on top of the pancakes. I called…

Spaghetti squash calories
I recently tried spaghetti squash and love it! However, I'm not sure as to how I should count it in my journal. I know that 1 cooked ounce is equal to 8 cals, but using the cooked weight is not as accurate as the raw weight because the post cooking weight of a squash depends on how long you cook it for. I always use raw…

Spaghetti Squash
How do you guys account for spaghetti squash when entering it in your food journal? I know that raw weight is the way to go with everything because different cooking methods result in different post cook weights, but for something like spaghetti squash this is hard to do since you don't eat the outside shell. So do you…

Need to gain 7lbs in 1 month
I've posted before about my stomach problems and you guys have been great, so I thought I would come here again. I need to get up to 145lbs by Wednesday December 18th for medical reasons and if I cannot then I can't go on a ski trip my Dad planned for my bro, sis, himself, and I. I lost 27lbs last year due to a digestive…

Walden Farms Flavors to try
I've tried the pancake and caramel syrup and am addicted to both, but the blueberry syrup was not that good. I just found a store yesterday that carries pretty much any WF product and is close to my apartment, which is great. So I was wondering, are there any other flavors you guys recommend I try that you think taste…

Motivation to eat enough to bulk
What motivates you guys to eat enough to bulk? I'm currently eating a bit over +20% of my TDEE, which works out to 2,200 cals as a 24yr old 5'10 guy weighing in at 133lbs. I feel like I'm stuffing myself all the time and hate how I cannot enjoy food anymore. I need to gain weight from a medical standpoint due to losing…

Nutritional info for when there is no label
When you guys buy a piece of meat/fish at the grocery store that doesn't have the nutritional info listed on the back of the package, do you go by what a site like nutrition data has for the calorie amount? For example, say I buy skinless boneless chicken breasts at Wegmans on my lunch break today, and I know they don't…

Fitbit One
Does anyone here use a fitbit one and if so, do you find that it is pretty accurate with the amount of calories burned it estimates? I'm a numbers guy and like tracking things, and I have been lookin into getting a fitbit one. However, I don't want to spend $100 on something that is not that accurate. I'm looking for…

Anyone use MFP to gain weight?
I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm using MFP to gain weight. I'm 24yrs old, male, 5'10, 132lbs, and want to get to around 155-160lbs; eventually. Anyone else trying to gain weight or have gained weight successfully using MFP? How do you find the drive to eat when you are stuffed and bloated? I suffer from a…

Trying to gain weight with Gastroparesis
I'm a 24yr old guy, 5'10, 132lbs as of this morning, and have been trying to regain the 27lbs I lost last year due to gastroparesis. I'm doing better than the beginning of the year when I was 118lbs, but I still have some ways to go before I reach my original weight of 145-150lbs. Does anyone else here suffer from…

Cream of Rice
Has anyone had this or eat it regularly and if so, how does it taste? I'm gluten intolerant and am looking for another carb option to have with breakfast and was wondering about this since I saw it in the grocery store yesterday. I cannot tolerate gluten free oatmeal but loved the texture of it when I had it. My only…

Weighing meat for counting
I know that to be accurate you should weigh food raw, which I have recently started doing (was weighing it cooked). I cook in bulk at one time for lunches throughout the week and last night I made boneless and skinless chicken thighs. The total amount of weight raw was 49.5oz. Taking the number from the package, the total…
