What a great idea! I'm in!

I've been taught that you need a base of at least a year of running before you should START marathon training. A half marathon could be done in a lot less. I ran my first marathon about 18 months after starting running and did ok. Now, 3 years later, I just ran two marathons 3 weeks apart and felt SO much better. I was…

I live in Utah at 4200 ft. and visited my parents on the Puget Sound in Washington State a few weeks ago. Running felt like a BREEZE at sea level and when I went for a run after I got home my body felt like lead! Natskedat's advice is perfect. Start gradually, but don't give it up altogether! Besides, you don't want to…

You can do it! It's amazing what you didn't even know your body can do! My husband started huffing and puffing with me in January (he hadn't done much of any running in his life). He just ran a half marathon with me in May. It was awesome!

Congrats on the weight loss! Way to go!
-
Wow, that's great! Congrats! It's true how little triumphs can really give you the motivation to keep it up.

That's awesome Mike! I feel the same way--I've been here on and off for three years, and when I'm off I gain weight back. So I'm here to stay!

I'm also a runner and have never experienced to pain when not running. I can only guess, but I agree with brityn about googling it or seeing a podiatrist. It could have something to do with your non-running shoes. Perhaps?

That's the problem with salad dressing, isn't it? I'm curious, too!

hahahaha! my energy got raptured :)

That's great! I saw a bumper sticker last night that said "Honk if you're Amish." Made me literally laugh out loud!
-
Wow! You look great. Congratulations!

I'm 141 lbs. and wear a size 8, but can fit in some size 6. Two years ago I was down to 132 and could fit into some size 4 pants. I don't know what my goal weight is either, but when I was 132 I felt like I was small enough, even though I had thought that I wanted to get into the 120s. Also it was hard to maintain, hence…

Welcome! You've come to the right place!

I don't know about the knee, (you may want to see a dr.) but I do know that you have to go to a running specialty store and get a gait analysis. They can tell you if you about your arches, pronation, etc. and what kind of shoe is best for you (motion control, stability, or neutral). Then you can try on every one of those…

I agree with what everyone has said! Also, no need to cross your fingers, because YOU are in charge of your success here! There's no luck involved! Just keep logging your food and exercise and you'll see results. Glad you're here!

That. is. awesome. You deserve a big hug!

chocolate milk. really. just that.

love the little victories like that! great job!

I buy pink lady apples there. If you haven't tried them, you should. Also my Sam's has a good price on 90/10 ground beef that has about the same amount of calories as ground turkey. But ground turkey's good, too, for a variety. Don't forget about fish, and a big pack of romaine for salads. Also look for fat free feta…

Doesn't it all just even itself out in the end? You'll see results whether you poop or not if you're losing weight. We're all in this for the long run, anyway, right?

You are doing great for all you have on your plate (literally & figuratively)! I'm a mom a 4 kids ages 13 - 5 and I know it's difficult. Just stay focused on your motivation. You--and your family--are worth it!

I didn't know Coke could cause a kidney stone! How much do you drink? Is it Coke or Diet Coke (and does it even matter)? So sorry for the bad news, though. You can do this!
-
Have you been stretching after you workouts? I know when you don't stretch enough you can have pain in your achilles tendon. Try stretching and massaging your calves--but you may need to see a dr.

You look wonderful! Congrats!

Thanks for sharing! I loved it!

Awesome goal! Rest days (maybe once a week?) would be good!
