I agree with this. Calorie counts in foods are at best averages, at worst estimates. The same goes (mostly) for exercise. My activity level is fairly regular, measured with fitbit, and eleven months' experience tells me, that if I show a deficit of between 200 and 400 calories from MFP's suggestion, I will stay within…

I reached my goal ten months ago, and have remained in range (goal +/- 1kg) since. I record everything as I did to lose the weight, and I weigh daily. Experience tells me that I need to be 150-200 kcals below what MFP recommends. As soon as I see a three- or four-day trend, I adjust my intake and exercise to bring it back.…

I'm rather like farway (only younger - I'm not 65 for a couple of months). I have been maintaining since last August, having dropped from 94kg to 70kg.

It can be done, and you can do it, I have no doubt. I haven't smoked since 1980. July 2012, my BMI was in the obese area (OK, only just, at 30.6, but it was in there). It moved into the healthy area (<25) mid-January 2013, and has now been steady at 22.5-23 for a little over six months. You can do it.

I wish I could afford to replace them all. Apart from jeans, I'm still wearing them.

Six days out of seven, breakfast is cereal with added prunes and dried apricots, and espresso coffee. Sunday breakfast is always either scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on toast (sometimes with chopped spinach), or smoked herring fillets. Tomorrow is herring day!

Haven't decided yet

Obesity Index 23bmi You have a lower BMI than 85% of males aged 60-69 in your country You have a lower BMI than 66% of males aged 60-69 in the world If everyone in the world had the same BMI as you, it would remove 11,231,477 tonnes from the total weight of the world's population You're most like someone from Togo:smile:

Suits me that way, too. I find fromage blanc, 0% sugar and 0% fat equally good, and half the price

I have eaten, and enjoyed, venison in UK, horse in France; zebra, wildebeest, springbok, kudu and other antelope in Tanzania, Kenya and South Africa. Generally, all of these animals run, unlike cattle, pigs and sheep that are mostly sedentary. They develop muscle rather than fat, and thus are significantly leaner, as well…

No cravings, but I do have one square of Lindt "Noir absolu" 99% every day - 13 cals.

Feel free to add me. I am 64 and currently in maintenance, having lost 24 kg in twelve months with MFP

Much travelled Devon boy now retired and living in France. Been on here for almost a year, achieved my goal and now maintaining.

It works. At least, it does for me.

Taking things with a grain of salt is OK, but watch your sodium levels!

I have a batch proving in the fridge now, made with farine de blé noir de Bretagne (also known as farine de sarrasin - either of which sounds so much tastier than buckwheat)

Happy birthday for yesterday. I am only three weeks off that - no running, but daily three mile (hilly) walk with the dogs.

Boil with an equal weight of carrots and a couple of cloves of crushed garlic. After boiling, add enough cumin to make it interesting, a small knob of butter and roughly mash the lot together. Seriously yummy. ETA doing that this evening with ginger and lime chicken and a side of asparagus. My mouth is watering before I…

This, precisely.

yup - this

This exactly - two small dogs (Wire Fox Terrier and Jack Russell Terrorist) plus, temporarily, a little ****su. Just over three miles on hilly terrain every day without fail. Don't know about us, but the dogs, especially Trevor (JRT) are supremely fit.

First thought is that if it's only accurate once a week then that's the day to weigh on. Seriously, though, and guessing someone has already said this but going ahead and saying it anyway; I weigh on my Aria every day. I have turned off the reporting of losses to my MFP diary, so ony I see the fluctuations. I also sync…

Sounds a bit like me. I don't care - I shall be dead. The funeral's not for me, anyway, it's for whoever is left and cares. I shall have no further use for this body; if anyone can use bits of it, great, if not, just get my nutrients back into circulation.

Hi Nicci. We moved to France in 2006. At 63 it has taken me almost nine months to lose the three stones I had gradually accumulated over a period of three decades. Just started on maintenance. Feel free to friend me.

My Jack Russell came with the name Trevor. Terrible name, but he likes it. Not recommended, though. Don't use Nigel either.

Bump I am committed to a charity hike in September. I currently only do a daily dog walk of a little over three miles on mixed terrain including a few steep hills (fitbit credits 20 flights).
