I too have an RS300x with foot pod that I got last week. As a beginner runner, I have only been on a treadmill. I want to start running outside as the weather improves, and to prepare for my upcoming 5K, but have grown accustom to the metrics a treadmill provides. So, I purchased this HRM so that I can still get HR,…

Your weight is accurate anytime you step on the scale, for your body weight naturally fluctuates throughout the day. What you want is consistency, and you get that by weighting yourself under the same conditions and at the same time, every time. That being said, you will probably weigh less after a workout vs before,…

Careful with that ring! Mine got so loose that one day it fell off and I thought it was long gone. Turned up a month later under furniture. Now I have to use a spacer to keep it on my finger. As it's not your original, it may not mean as much to you, but I was really bummed when I thought I lost mine. But congrats on your…

I lost my first 30lbs without exercise, so I know it was diet alone that was responsible. It made it easy for me to understand that I was going to continue to lose weight when I added exercise and ate my burned calories. I am curious, when you worked out "like a demon," did you eat your exercise calories? No judgement; I…

Here's something I've posted before, but speaks to the zones issue:

[offtopic] Congrats on your 5K! I, too, have been training since January but my first is still 6 weeks away.[/offtopic]

Zone Perfect and Balance Bars are staples. Pure Protein I just tried a couple of weeks ago, and have been impressed with every flavor I've tried--very tasty, but very much like a candy bar. KIND bars are my fav fruit/nut bar. Soyjoy's are great for a more bread/cake like bar. Have ate Cliff bars in the past, but try to…

Nobody knows, eh?

Then what is it?

You can order steaks "healthy style" and they leave it out.

How in the world did Hardee's/Carl's Jr not end up worst on fast food?

I have never been offered an apple! Did not know that was even available.

I'm a fan of the "You Pick 2" and getting the chopped Thai Chopped Chicken Salad and the Low Fat Vegetarian Black Bean Soup. Even with the included baguette, it is under 500 calories.

Forgot my post yesterday! 4/2: SW - 223.6 lbs Week 1 - 220.6 lbs Week 2 - xxx lbs Week 3 - xxx lbs Week 4 - xxx lbs Total lost - 3 lbs

If you see your sister often, it is very likely she has just not noticed. It took a long time for people I work with to notice, but when I run in to friends I have not seen in a while, they definitely comment. Kind of like seeing a toddler every day vs every 3 months. If you only them sporadically, the next time they look…

Weight will fluctuate from day-to-day, and even within the same day. How 'accurate' your scale is is less important than if it is consistent. Your Wii should do just fine, as long as you are consistent in your time of weighing as others have suggested. I personally weigh in every Monday morning, after toilet, before…

That is by design. If you exercise, you are adding calories to consume to your daily goal. Your daily goal has a deficit already built in, so when you burn extra calories, you need to eat extra calories to maintain your same deficit. Likewise, when you do not eat your goal calories, it will reflect in the 'five weeks…

Great informative post. I've pieced most of this stuff together from here and there on these boards, but good to see it clearly laid out together.

Never understood ordering shoes from a website. Maybe I'm just picky, but I really need to try shoes on before I buy them.

*edit: point made while I was typing. Deleting redundant reply.*

I see this posted a lot. As CarrieLincoln said, before/after pictures are a great way to see the changes. Also, I have seen others suggest getting a new outfit and looking at yourself in it--seeing yourself in something new can help disassociate your outdated mental image from what you are actually seeing. For me, it…

I've found carbs to be fine too, as long as within caloric goals. Of course that means you are eating fewer carbs. Does your PT know you are on a calorie limited diet? "Cut out carbs" sounds like a 'blanket instruction' that a PT might give someone for reducing their calories.

I'm curious too.

I didn't see changes until well after 30lbs and it was another 10lbs after that before other people started commenting. Remember that the fat vanishes from all over, not just one place or the other. Thus, it can take a decent loss before it is really noticeable. HANG IN THERE!

WRAPS! Wraps are often portrayed as the more healthy alternative. I was shocked to find that at Subway, a wrap (by itself) was 310 calories versus the 200 calorie 6" Italian bread.

I lost half of my current weight-loss before I even started exercise, thus I know that reducing what I eat is more important than what I burn. I am exercising as part of a healthy lifestyle and to improve my fitness, but not specifically to lose weight. I am also a pretty busy person, and attempting any more than what I am…

I take it you don't eat back your calories from exercise? As one that does, I only work out 3 times a week. Thus, I just stick to my net calories here on MFP and have no guilt.

Body weight fluctuates often. I have seen my own weight change 2.5lbs inside of 12 hours! The scale weighs everything--what you recently ate, the water your body is holding, your bones, organs, and yes fat too. It is not the best indicator of body fat, only one of many metrics that can be used to help you keep track. Also,…

Nuts, peanut butter, jerky, yogurt, eggs, low fat cottage cheese, sardines, oatmeal. I just got home a short while ago and was quite hungry, but had few calories left for the day. The Greek Yogurt I opted for has 17g of protein and is very filling for 120 calories.
