Congrats on your running progress! I wish I had the knees to run 8K. Since you like data the Garmin is definitely the way to go over say a Fit Bit. I have used both and Garmin is light years ahead when it comes to data and analytics. I have the Fenix 3 HR but any of their smart watches are a good choice.

I think the issue you are experiencing is related to time zone differences as Orphia has suggested

I have noticed the issues above also and I think its been a known problem for sometime. As of today it seems to be fixed so fingers crossed it is.

Thanks Hikergirl for the advice. I will have to look into those suggestions further. I hear you on the wishing I had more time issue. I wish I had more time to get out backpacking and enjoying everything there is to offer in WA.

Thanks for the input Liz. Much appreciated. I'm on the East side of WA where it tends to be very dry during the summer. i imagine the rain factor is much higher along the routes you mention. I will need to keep that in mind. Great profile pics...looks like you've had some good travels and hikes

I used to do some scrambling when I was living in Calgary, Alberta Canada and spending all of my free time in the mountains. My scrambling experience is fairly limited but it is fun and definitely takes a hike in the mountains to a new dimension.

Hi Wendy. I'm in WA too..Spokane. I love your headline about being realistic and forever is the plan. Its too easy to jump in too quick make drastic changes that can't be supported for the long term or result in a change in habits and behaviors. I'm also trying to lose some weight and to improve my diet and exercise more.…
