As much as it might hurt, I find the best remedy for sore muscles is to continue to work out each day afterward....maybe not quite as hard though. Definitely don't weight train the same muscles right away, but maybe a little cardio will help. Once you get warmed up, it's not so bad.

I'm almost done the burn phase. Really enjoying it so far!

I'm doing Chalean Extreme and love it! It's mostly weights with some cardio thrown in. I recommend it!

Normally I would say to trust your HRM, but I had a weird thing happen to me the other day with mine. I was out walking the dog for about an hour at a moderately brisk pace and a few times my HRM said my heart rate was way over my target HR and it even read as high as 204bpm!! Now I know I wasn't having a heart attack and…

I agree completely. I've stopped hanging out on the message boards as much because I can't stand reading some people's negative comments. Let's keep the comments positive with only constructive criticism folks!

I'm not sure why you haven't seen anything, but I've read tons of posts and comments on P90X. There are a lot of people on here who do it. I think the reason the workouts aren't in the database is because they can be so different, depending on the individual. I think most people just use a heart rate monitor to log their…

Swimming is usually pretty easy on the joints. Just take it easy with the leg movements.

If you're not drinking any milk, are you getting calcium in any other form? Aside from nail problems, a lack of calcium affects your bone health, potentially leading to osteoporosis. Under the age of 50, you should be getting 1000mg of calcium per day.

Just an update...the lump is still gone. Guess it was just indigestion or reflux.
-
I'm fairly certain this happens to everyone. Maybe try weighing yourself once a week so you don't get caught up in the fluctuations.

I'm currently at a 2 week stall myself. For the first month I lost 6 lbs, and for the last two weeks I've gained 2lbs. My food has been good (just hovering around my cal limit most days). BUT, I have been working out and lifting weights, so I know my body if gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat. I"m still losing…

As I mentioned earlier, I work in radiology at the hospital. I just spoke with one of the radiologists that I work with about my lump (which still hasn't come back yet today :) ) and he wasn't very concerned. He just told me to wait a little while longer, continue taking Losec and see what happens. He said it sounds like…

So far so good today....no lump yet. Yesterday it lasted until I went to bed but it was gone again when I woke up this morning. I'll try not to eat too much at a time today so I don't trigger it again. I took Losec last night and the night before and I'll continue taking it for a few more days.

I looked it up and Losec and Prilosec OTC are pretty much the same thing and made by the same company. It just so happens that I have a prescription for losec so I'm going to take that for a few days and see if that makes any difference. If not, I'll go see my Dr. again.
-
Is it from the US or Canada? I find we don't often have the same medications as they do in the US.
-
I haven't heard of prilosec OTC.

If you've got food lodged in you throat, more often than not, does it usually correct itself? I had bloodwork done today (again, for other reasons than this), and I was glad to see theyre going to test my TSH levels. That will give me an indication if there are any thyroid problems.

Guilty!

I've tried Tums, Losec and milk of mag. but they didn't work. I'm hesitant to go to my Dr right away because I just saw her a couple weeks ago for something else and I wasn't having these problems then. I have an appt with her again in April but if the problem still persists after a couple more weeks, I'll make another…

HI Kerri, you're exactly the person I needed to answer this!! I work in the healthcare field as well (Nuclear Medicine) so I'm pretty familiar with a lot of the tests. I actually do thyroid imaging and function tests and have thought of this, but my thyroid doesn't seem swollen. I've had my thyroid levels checked in the…

I've been pretty active lately. I just started doing Chalean Extreme and was doing P90 before that. I've been eating healthy and using MFP for about a month now and exercising regularly for a few weeks (pretty much every day).

I've always heard that eating a banana before you work out is good. But don't eat it immediately before. Also, I'm pretty sure I read on the forums here somewhere that you shouldn't mix caffeine and working out. Can't remember why or exactly what they said about it. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm recovering from back surgery (over a year ago) and I'm in decent shape but not great. I tried TF and 20 min in, I hurt my back so I stopped. The moves were WAY too fast and I had such a hard time keeping up, I wasn't doing them properly....hence the injury. I'm sure once you get used to the moves, proper form will…

I tried to get life insurance/disabiltiy for my house and they denied me because I take antidepressants, and because I had an abnormal pap 6 mos earlier. I was so mad!!

I've only done 2 days of CLX but I love it already!! I love lifting weights!!

Watermelon has no taste??!! I find it delicious!! I love the idea of freezing it into cubes.
