  • It has been my experience that husbands and boyfriends that try to direct their wives or girlfriends eating and exercise routines get the opposite of what they are hoping to accomplish. It will not make her feel good about herself and she will feel that you are not attracted to her...hence..do not really love her. She will…
  • You sure don't look like 225...you look like 125
  • I don't drink my carbs as I am diabetic. I also prefer to chew rather than drink. But I can see how this would be a great way to get more nutrients by volumizing vegetables.
  • Philadelphia cream chees lite - vegetable or garlic and onion or plain. 20 - 25 cal TBLSP. Celery. Pickled Asparagus or beans or just any pickles - extremely low in calories and satisfying.
  • It is normal to have days like that. Just tell yourself that you are not going to the gym this week and eat your max allowed....this will give you back the control and you can continue on.
  • Hi Stuart, I feel like it is a life journey to be healthier and be impowered by the control I know take of myself. The most important thing for me is to allways know that I can allow myself anything I want. By having this mindset it is much easier to follow a great plan but have that turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. Eat that…
  • You need to volumize your eating. Find the foods that you like that are super healthy and low in calories and eat lots of them. Huge Salad, peppers with low calorie cream cheese, celery with any kind of filling, low calorie cream cheese, cheese whiz, egg salad, bowls of homemade soup. vegetables with dips(low calorie) Just…
  • You made me laugh...which is surprising since you need to critisize others that are not as perfect or as knowledgable as you. Working on your know it all attitude will educate you to be a more understanding person and not be snooty.
  • I didn't use suplements, but my sister does. She is having success, but I do worry that it may be short lived. She needs to go through the steps to see what works for her.

  • Don't assume that being new here has anything to do with success at losing weight and getting healthy. It has been my experience that each person has to find there own way to personal success. As they go through this process they will find the answers that they need. You cannot necessarily jump the cue. It is all about…
  • I bet the people that are creative in eating low calorie snacks that keep them satisfied are probably more successful. I have been losing and maintaining for more that 10 years now...not going up more that 2 lbs and going down each year. I creatively snack at my most hungry times. By allowing yourself some…
  • I don't believe that how much you weight should determine whether you are ready to run. It is how you have prepared and prepped yourself for a higher degree of exercise. You need to train and build momentum for any type of strenuous physical exersion.
  • Look up cookie recipes on line. Search soft ginger cookies...taste great and look great and the recipe usually makes lots. Sorry I can't find my recipes at the moment and don't really want to be reading cookie recipes with the state i'm in :P
  • MFP sets my intake at 1330 cal. I have been on for 5.5 weeks and have lost 5lbs. 3 in the first 2 weeks. Probably some water. I gained and lost 2lbs over the next two weeks and finally have been steady at 5 lbs loss for the last 1.5 weeks. Have not lost anything in the last 1.5 weeks but am glad for the stability. I walk a…
  • I think you should do what works for you. Some people are very opinionated (although that is what they were asked for) I think people who have knowledge of success or failure should be the ones commenting.
  • As you lose the weight the chin will become smaller. There will be a point where it may become loose and create a little hanging skin. Do not worry this naturally takes care of itself over time.
  • I would amp up the walking. Running has not been proven to be a better exercise for weight loss. Do enough walking to feel like you have accomplished a push. As it gets easier add more blocks and more time. Add slopes and stairs as the weight comes off and you feel better.
  • My head must be in the clouds. I have no noticed any nasty comments. Sometimes people can be a little forceful in their opinion of how someone else is doing...but have not noticed anything blatent.
  • Here is a really easy one. 3 large cans diced tomatoes, 1 large chopped onion, chicken, vegetable or beef stock. 2 litres/quarts. whole bag of spinach. Salt and pepper to taste. Can also use hotsauce if you prefer. Everything but the spinach in a crock or stovetop pot, bring to a boil then simmer until onion tender. Add…
  • Celery with light cream cheese, different flavours 20 - 35 per tbl spoon. Read the labels Bryers ice cream bars - fabulous 120 cal each Fudgicles 90 calories each popsicles 10 calories each baked chips 90 calories for 20 and that surprisingly is enough Yogurts, puddings etc low calorie Sugar free jello 20 calories a cup…
  • If you have Hypo you gain weight and Hyper you lose. Is this correct? I have the kind where you gain, but have managed to keep the weight at bay for 10 years and lost some as well, but It has required a great deal of self control. And I have reinvented the eating plan and exercise plan many times over. Don't give up. I…
  • At your height and weight you should be eating more than 2600 calories per day and still losing. Eat more at lunch and save 2 pieces of wheat toast and some canned fruit in water or juice for a late snack...this will stop you from feeling so hungry at night. Also add some vegetables, salads etc to your dinner and some…
  • My response will be a little different. Of course you need to get Thyroid and diabetes tests. As both of these diseases can squ your results. I was 185 lbs 10 years ago. Have tried every diet known to man and most had me gaining weight after loseing and getting back to a normal eating pattern. (so I thought) then I decided…
  • Wow...you give me hope :)
  • Light Miracle Whip only has 20 cal a TBLspoon. In case you are making it yourself or bringing it with you.
  • Never drink your carbs. I am not familiar with monster drinks, so can't comment on that. But drinking carbs is the quickest route to weight gain. If you can fruit should never be taken as juice. Take the whole fruit..fibre and all. An eight ounce of orange juice has 8 oranges in it.
  • I stayed the same for 3 years. That is why I joined MFP to kickstart some more weight loss. I believe that I just maintained at the amound of calories I was eating. So MFP helped me to eat the right amount to lose some more. I have 15 ot 20 lbs to go.
  • I started out 10 years ago at 186 lbs. I have slowly lost weight or maintained and have not gained, however I have remained the same for the last 2.5 years. I recently joined MFP almost 1 month ago @ 143.6 lbs and I have lost 5 lbs so far @ about 3.5 weeks, my present weight is 138.4. So MFP is definately giving me a…
  • I am in my 4th week. I have lost 5 lbs. I selected 1/2 half lb per week. so am ahead of schedule. I needed a kick start as I have lost weight over the last 10 years, but have stayed the same for the last 3 with about 20 lbs to go. I am allowed 1330 calories per day with 45 minutes of walking per day. I do a lot of walking…
